"Do we still need to verify this? Of course she has to be the one filing," I snapped. "She has to divorce me!"
Who am I? One stomp from me sends shockwaves through all of Manhattan. Nobody dares cross me.
But ever since this woman showed up to supposedly "boost my fortune," look what I've endured. I refuse to let any woman walk all over me like this.
Tony let out a heavy sigh, clearly at a loss for words, and passed over both documents.
Within minutes, our marriage certificate transformed into two separate divorce decrees.
I held up my copy of the divorce certificate, examining it closely. "You're absolutely certain this is legitimate? She didn't pull some kind of switcheroo, did she?"
"Completely legitimate, Mr. Nelson!"
Tony's internal sigh was practically audible. Veronica was eager to divorce you, you know? You've really screwed yourself over here.
"Perfect! Finally free!"
