Chapter 37 - Chapter 37 Above the Club

Helena's POV

Patrick's car comes to a stop outside the nightclub, and I steal a sideways glance at him. "Why did you bring me here?"

He remains silent as he maneuvers around to the back of the building, sliding into a parking space clearly reserved for management. Confusion creases my brow as I struggle to make sense of the situation. My thoughts consume me so completely that I fail to notice him already standing by my door, waiting for my exit.

"This place belongs to you, doesn't it?" The realization finally dawns on me.

His laugh rings out, rich and amused. "I was wondering when you'd connect the dots."

Without waiting to see if I'll follow, he slings my bag over his shoulder and strides toward the club entrance. I crane my neck to take in the imposing structure before me, feeling the deep bass vibrations pulse through the open doorway. Frustration and bewilderment simmer beneath my surface.
