I nodded at her. "Okay, we'll stay for dinner. As for the Tiamat matter, I'll take care of it when we're about to leave the castle."
She clapped her hands. "Great! Let me call the servants to start cooking."
"Servants?" I asked. "Weren't you always under Tiamat's control?"
She smirked at me. "Of course. We're going to let the servant Tiamat herself serve us."
I smiled. Lila really is someone who holds a grudge, but it makes sense, when you've been under someone else's control, like a puppet, for fifty straight years.
Then we both walked outside. Lila strode up to Tiamat and slapped her across the face. "Wake up, slave. Time to work."
Tiamat jolted awake and glared at us.
Before she could say another word, Lila traced a series of movements in the air, and glowing runes appeared on Tiamat's forehead.
Soon they lit up with a pink glow and then dimmed, and her previous glare transformed into an obedient, neutral expression.
