Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Life and Death Dilemma, Traveling Through the Devouring Star World

On July 1, 2056, in a remote corner of Yangzhou City, within an old, dilapidated residential complex, a young man with a delicate face but a hint of weariness was in a deep sleep, unable to wake for a long time.

Inside the room, a dimly glowing stove burned with a blue flame, its embers radiating an unbearable heat, and the young man, having fainted from the charcoal fumes, was deeply poisoned.

However, after an unknown period, a bright light streaked in, shattered the window, and landed beside the young man; the light then split into two, one entering the young man's body, and the other transforming into a crystal ball that settled beside him.

A fierce wind howled through the broken window, and only then did the young man's fingers twitch, and he regained consciousness.

"Hiss, what's going on? My head is so dizzy!"

Liu Yun struggled to get up, his head swimming, and he forced himself to look around; this was a completely unfamiliar place, and in his panic, he couldn't make any sense of it.

In this room, there was a table with some medals of honor, even a disability certificate, and a photograph.

It was a picture of a young girl and the young man himself, the girl fair-skinned and petite, with long flowing hair, dressed neatly like a student, which made the young man even more lost in thought.

Immediately afterward, a series of memories flooded his mind: monsters, Martial Artists, Warlords, and other such things, making the young man remember everything.

"I've Transmigrated into the world of swallowing starry sky? Oh my god! This girl seems to be his ex-girlfriend who abandoned him?"

As he thoroughly digested the original owner's memories, everything that was once blurry became clear in Liu Yun's eyes, though he was still somewhat shaken and couldn't accept it in such a short time.

The original owner's name was also Liu Yun, and he was a decent Martial Artist, but unfortunately, six months ago, during a beast tide, his spine was injured, and he lost his original strength. To treat his illness, he squandered all his Martial Artist savings, endured endless desolation, and suffered boundless regret, but still couldn't fill the bottomless pit of medical expenses.

At the same time, a Martial Artist's disability greatly affected his partner's perception, and he had long been mercilessly abandoned by his former girlfriend who deeply loved him! Even before his Transmigration, Liu Yun had seen countless warriors who fought bravely but lost limbs, only to be scorned by their wives and lovers.

Also, because he was abandoned, the original owner felt deeply ashamed when he saw his former companions, so he didn't stay in the villa, opting instead for an ordinary residential complex to live anonymously.

Liu Yun's parents had passed away long ago, and they were merely radio station attendants, so their life was financially strained. Fortunately, Liu Yun successfully became a Martial Artist, which allowed him to buy a house in Yian District of Yangzhou City.

However, he was severely injured not long ago and lost all his strength. In less than a year, Liu Yun would be paralyzed, and with the current level of Earth's technology, it would be impossible to treat Liu Yun. Liu Yun was disheartened and didn't want to be a huge burden to his sister, so he chose to take his own life, resulting in a body lying by the lamp's shadow, blood staining the empty room.

Now, Liu Yun's body has not improved. Although Liu Yun occupied his body and possessed much unique knowledge from swallowing starry sky, he still had no good way to preserve Liu Yun's strength.

"Let me think carefully about how to deal with these matters. I can't miss a single detail; perhaps an inconspicuous detail is the key to turning the situation around."

By the broken window, Liu Yun looked at the myriad of lights, his heart stirring, and began to ponder how to make the most of everything before him, first to keep Liu Yun alive, and even to set Liu Yun on an invincible path.

Liu Yun greatly enjoyed "swallowing starry sky"; he had read it many times and thus knew the characters and plot inside out. This was truly a vast world, and also a difficult one.

Countless monsters appeared on Earth, first occupying the sky, and then taking over the oceans, forcing humanity to struggle for survival amidst beast tides.

When Luo Feng emerged and resolved the beast tides, humanity began to encounter Universe civilizations, only to discover that humans were merely an unnoticed small corner within the Milky Way Galaxy, which was controlled by the Silverblue Empire.

The Silverblue Empire had eight galaxies the size of the Milky Way Galaxy, and this was only an Elementary civilization Empire. Above it was the Black Dragon Mountain Empire, a thousand times more powerful, controlling over eight thousand spiral galaxies.

And the Black Dragon Mountain Empire, surprisingly, was merely a vassal state of another. Humanity's territory was seemingly endless, the Universe incredibly vast, and there were five other major races contending with it, all seemingly possessing considerable means. Of course, for smaller races, this meant the entire Universe had six evil races vying for all possible resources.

Although Earth was like a speck of dust floating under the sunset, it was also the location of the protagonist Luo Feng. Liu Yun thought to himself, should he use his extensive Martial Artist knowledge to go and teach Luo Feng some Martial Skills?

As long as he could teach that kid a trick or two, with his future achievements, pulling Liu Yun up would make Liu Yun instantly take off.

However, after much thought, Liu Yun felt somewhat tired. He believed that relying on others' strength was mostly unreliable. While Luo Feng's character was not bad, for a considerable period, he couldn't even save his own brother from paralysis, let alone save him?

He first fetched some water from the bathroom and extinguished the charcoal stove. Looking at the sizzling steam, he thought that he couldn't take his own life; he had to find a way.

As the dimly glowing fire in the stove completely died out, Liu Yun finally noticed the faint red glow emanating from the crystal ball that had previously entered the room.

This was the life core of a Universe Automaton Race, which had Transmigrated with him to find a suitable person to symbiotically coexist with.

Liu Yun had already formed a life-blood pact-like relationship with it, and this core became Liu Yun's Mechanical Race Clone. With a single wave of Liu Yun's hand, the core slowly flew into his grasp, and in an instant, an endless stream of knowledge flooded into Liu Yun's mind.

The Automaton Race is a powerful race, capable of continuing to act even after their consciousness is extinguished. Even if only one ten-thousandth of their computing power leaks out, it is a wisdom far beyond human imagination. This crystal ball was actually the core of a powerful Automaton Race member, now in Liu Yun's hands.

In the world of swallowing starry sky, the Automaton Race is also a top-tier powerful race, occupying boundless territories and possessing many terrifying abilities and means that surpass the imagination of Earthlings.

"Excellent, this is it! Flesh is weak, Mechanical Ascension! With a Mechanical Race Clone, my future is surely a smooth road."

After his excitement, Liu Yun forced himself to calm down. How things would develop afterward was still an unknown, but he now had to rely on the magical crystal ball.

This object was the life core of a powerful Automaton Race; its main body had been destroyed, and it could now only serve as Liu Yun's Clone.

The Automaton Race can rapidly expand its forces to help Liu Yun acquire resources from outside, or it can switch to production, manufacturing various terrifying high-tech weapons! All in all, it's much better than the Insect Race. The Insect Race cannot perfectly integrate into human life through production, and their rapid expansion of forces would likely be meaningless before the Automaton Race's firepower suppression. Moreover, the Automaton Race's ability to rapidly expand its forces is no less than that of the Insect Race; it can completely establish bases and continuously upgrade, just like the Insect Race, helping Liu Yun gain significant influence throughout society.
