Chapter 66 - Vex Morningstar

Over the next week, Coalition leaders debated Helena's proposal intensely. Some supported it, seeing practical wisdom in accepting inevitable division. Others opposed it, viewing it as surrender of wolves who needed protection.

"We're not surrendering anything," I argued during one heated discussion. "We're choosing our battles. We save every wolf we can reach while accepting we can't immediately transform wolves who resist change."

"That's easy for you to say from security," a Luna from a smaller Coalition pack said. "My pack borders traditional territory. Division means increased conflict, raids, harassment. We'll be on the front lines of this split."

"Then we station Coalition warriors on your borders," Connor said. "We protect vulnerable packs. Division doesn't mean abandoning allies."

"It means accepting permanent opposition," another Alpha said. "Traditional packs will never stop trying to destroy us. We'll be fighting this battle forever."
