Synopsis
Ash Raven lives in a world under constant threat from the Kraegan. A malevolent force banished from Hell after a failed attempt to conquer it, and Satan. Humanity is given a chance to fight back when powers once thought of in books and video games come to life, giving them the edge in the war, dubbing themselves Revhounds. Ash, however, is a low level and is subject to unfair harassment by his peers due to a false report on his older brother. After a bad day, he finds a little girl about to be attacked by a Kraegan, but doesn’t remember the rest of the night after the encounter, only waking to see a scar around his neck and a new look. His biggest surprise is that he’s been granted a system, which dubs him the next ‘Skullhunter’ and begins leveling him up through various tasks and missions along with killing Kraegans. Ash’s joy turns to dread when he learns what the system is really trying to do to him, that a bigger conspiracy awaits him, and that the system forced on him has a more sinister origin behind it. “It is better to burn out than fade away.” -Neil Young

Chapter 1 - Prolouge

Fire and destruction lay everywhere in the broken part of the city. The civilians screamed in fear as the monsters chased them with their gluttonous eyes. The laughter the monsters echoed in the air, and the screams the humans made were like music to them. The monsters crept toward the children, drool dripping from their mouths. As they approached, they stopped halfway when they heard a different sound. Not screams, but the sound of an engine instead. The engine of an approaching motorcycle. The monsters turned to see who it was; the image they saw now made them the ones in fear. On the bike sat the rider, whose head was ablaze. A flaming pumpkin head. The rider got off his bike, pulling a shotgun from the holster on his back, he blasted the first few monsters in his line of sight. The monsters, in anger, ran to the rider, but the rider fought back, not with the shotgun but with a long black sword he used to chop their heads off.

"More!" the rider said. The next batch of monsters came out at him, and like the others, he cut their heads off too.

"More, more, give me more!!!!" the rider shouted, his voice warping, making the monsters quiver to the ground. One of them spoke, with everything it could muster in strength. It said only words.

"The Skullhunter!"
