Leo couldn't suppress the dark thoughts in his heart, silently cursing that Silver-Winged Snake beastman.
"Is that so?" On the surface, Leo appeared to waver slightly, taking a step forward.
Rowan felt something was wrong and hurriedly widened the distance: "That's right, what about it?"
"Don't trust me?"
"No, why wouldn't I trust you!" Seeing the Omegina was on guard, Leo dared not risk advancing further.
Truly, once bitten by a snake, ten years afraid of ropes; he shouldn't have treated the Omegina so roughly before.
"Then why did you suddenly hunt so much prey? Didn't you say the food the tribe gave was already too much to eat?"
Rowan paused for a moment then said: "The tribe's food reserves aren't enough, right? Yanan said that in the Snow Season, not a few people from the Snow Leopard tribe have starved to death. Since that's the case, I have the ability to hunt, so contributing a bit of effort to the tribe is no problem."
Originally, Rowan also intended to use this method to repay the care of Asa and everyone, but plans could not keep up with changes.
The appearance of that gluttonous beast Owen meant food could only be prioritized for the injured. No wonder food wasn't enough; a beastman's appetite is truly extraordinary.
Hearing these words, Leo found it hard not to be moved: "Then in the future, I will make a special exception for you to hunt with us; don't go out on your own anymore, okay?"
As the son of the clan leader, Leo had followed his father since childhood and witnessed many clansmen unable to survive the Snow Season, which was why he worked so hard to shoulder the responsibility of leading clansmen out to hunt.
Leo believed that with him there, even if he risked his life, he would protect the Omegina well; that way, at least it would be much safer than the Omegina hunting alone.
Rowan pretended to hesitate for a moment then agreed: "Okay, let's go back first."
"What about this prey?" Leo didn't know how to handle it properly; he couldn't accept food that an Omegina had risked his life to hunt.
"You hunted this prey yourself, it doesn't belong to the tribe so naturally it's yours. Wait until tomorrow, we will go hunting together." Leo pondered, deciding to follow the tribe's regulations.
Rowan shook his head. Originally, because this prey was too large and inconvenient to show off bringing back to the tribe, he had intended to bury it, only cutting a portion to bring back to the cave.
This amount was already the tenderest meat on the Stone-Footed Beast that he chose to bring back; most of the meat had been left there for other wild beasts.
"Since I've been discovered by you, I will only keep a small portion to bring back to the cave; divide the rest for Asa and Yanan." It was hard to get someone to help, so he might as well bring it all back.
Moreover, he knew they wouldn't stay in this tribe much longer.
"That's not..."
Rowan cut him off, glancing sharply: "Just do as I ask."
Leo didn't understand why he had to obey an Omegina's command; perhaps it was because the Omegina's aura was too strong, so he hoisted all the beast meat onto his shoulder.
Rowan did not fight for this heavy labor with Leo. Actually, on the way back he was already exhausted; being able to walk now was already lucky.
"What kind of beast did you hunt?" Leo was a bit curious about the pile of meat on his shoulder that had been butchered beyond recognition of its original shape.
"Don't know, it was very big." Rowan essentially didn't know what species the beasts here were; this was the largest and strangest beast he had met.
Initially, he even doubted if it was edible, but so Owen wouldn't go hungry, he had to bring it back to try.
Leo choked on the Omegina's answer; clearly, Rowan didn't want to tell him, and he wasn't foolish enough to ask and spoil the mood.
On the way back, a few beastmen saw Leo and Rowan walking together, especially with Leo carrying so much beast meat.
They couldn't help but tease: "Oh, Leo, you're doing well, getting so much beast meat."
"Don't talk nonsense, Rowan hunted this." Leo glared at that beastman.
The beastman clearly didn't believe it, watching them pass with a look that said he understood everything.
Rowan didn't hear the underlying meaning, thinking the beastman was surprised by the pile of meat Leo was carrying.
But he didn't mind.
Passing by Yanan's house, Rowan knocked on his cave door.
"Who is it?" Yanan opened the door slightly and poked his head out.
Seeing it was Rowan, he immediately opened the door wide.
"Ah, you came to visit me." Yanan happily linked arms with Rowan. "Huh? Why is Leo here too?"
Leo smiled and greeted him.
Leo and Yanan were quite close, knowing Yanan often went to chat with Asa, but to avoid suspicion, they didn't talk much.
Rowan unnaturally withdrew his hand; how could this Omegina casually link arms with an Alpha like that? He secretly felt awkward for a moment.
He hurriedly helped Leo unload the beast meat, using a stone knife to immediately cut some meat for Yanan.
Yanan didn't mind Rowan withdrawing his hand; he was amazed by their on-the-spot meat carving scene: "What is this for?"
"For you, I hunted it; if you can't finish it, just leave it out in the snow to freeze." Rowan replied.
"Oh my god, Rowan you are too amazing, I don't need this much, a little is enough." Yanan couldn't help but admire.
Rowan enjoyed the Omegina's praise very much; he cut a bit more and shoved it into Yanan's cave.
"Ah right, the training method I taught you, are you practicing? Once you learn it, you can teach other Omeginas in the tribe to practice together; it's very good for health."
"Yes, but asking me to teach other Omeginas, forget it, it's better if you teach." Yanan said shyly; actually, lately he had been a bit lazy.
Exercising voluntarily every day in the Snow Season was really too hard; Yanan lowered his head in shame.
Rowan could only say: "Then you can train with Asa, it's very good for his health."
"This is doable, I will go over there tomorrow."
"Um, then we are going to Asa's place, you stay home and rest well." Rowan said goodbye to Yanan.
Yanan inexplicably felt reluctant to part: "Why leave so fast, sit here and chat for a while."
"No, next time." Rowan turned and left.
