KNOX
Make her a woman?
That I could do.
This was what I had always wanted to hear from her. I had always wanted her to make the first move, to tell me how she felt. I never wanted to make her uncomfortable or force anything on her.
Now that she was saying it, offering herself willingly, I couldn't understand why I was hesitating.
No. I knew why.
The monster inside me. What if… what if it came out at that moment and hurt her?
I looked out the window. The moon was still full. It was inevitable that I would lose control again tonight. I had already felt the familiar pressure beneath my skin while I was outside, watching for the bastard lurking in the shadows.
Yes, someone was watching us. I didn't know who yet, and the scent I picked up wasn't familiar.
So I couldn't tell whether they were an enemy or a friend. But whoever it was, I didn't appreciate them scratching at the door and knocking like they owned the damned place.
Back to Oleander.
