Chapter 44 - The Lady and The Knight II

(Third Person POV)

"Your Brother is a mighty knight, I'll be honest." Ellion said as he walked alongside Ashara Dayne, "I was fortunate enough to defeat him in a joust."

Ashara smiled, "Is that so?"

Ellion nodded, "Of course." I said, "That is Arthur Dayne we are speaking out. Possibly the greatest swordsman of all time."

She chuckled, "He might very well be." She said, "I hear he has great accomplishments, my older brother."

Ellion smiled slightly, "Perhaps his greatest achievement is having such a beautiful sister." He said, "The books of history will remember him as Lady Ashara's brother."

Ashara chuckled again, blushing slightly, "Oh, Ser." She said, "Your attempts to flatter me might be successful. You are but a fine knight, I must admit. Seeing you so defiantly crown Lady Joanna at the end of the Tourney was quite the sight. You are something else, Ser Ellion."

Ellion stopped and looked at her, "Your kind words are too much for me, My Lady." He said, "I must admit I did not see you at the Tourney, I mean I was wearing such cumbersome armor and helm, that is. But I am glad you were there to witness my feats. As good as I am in Jousting, I must say that I am even better in a Melee. So should there be another Tourney in the future that holds a Melee, then I do hope you are there to witness it."

Ashara stopped as well and turned to him, "I hope so too." She said, "I think you have a good future as a Knight. I mean, the King himself has shown you favor."

Ellion nodded, "I may be young, but I have such aspirations to climb to the top." I said, "To do so, a Knight might be the first step. I am but a bastard, that is."

"You are a Knight now, Ser Ellion. Your background means nothing at this point." She said, "You are going to be known as the Champion of the Lannisport Tourney. That alone is enough to make people respect you."

Ellion placed his hand on his chin, "Is that so?" He said, "That's a good point. I didn't think of it that way, but the truth doesn't go away, does it? I am illegitimate."

"You shouldn't think about that now." Ashara said with an encouraging tone, "You are a Knight that defeated my brother. Be more confident in yourself."

Ellion smirked slightly, "I am quite confident, you see." He said, "I have done some things that have fueled that confidence."

"Like what?" Ashara chuckled, giving him a curious look

"I've cut down more than 12 men before the tourney." Ellion explained, "A large group of outlaws that were threatening the Westerlands. All by my lonesome, that is. That is why I am so confident and why Lord Tywin does not like me. He thinks I am undermining his men and efforts."

"Oh my." Ashara placed her hand in front of her mouth, "That is most impressive. And you were unharmed?"

Ellion nodded, "Pretty much."

"You might be like my brother then." She said with a chuckle, "Formidable, Ser Ellion."

Ellion was going to say something when he noticed something out of the corner of his eye. He turned to see a young woman with dark brown hair and black eyes staring right at him. She was wearing a dark green dress with golden floral patterns. The young woman was leaning on the wall, giving him a slight smirk.

Ellion blinked, "Uhm...."

Ellion believed she was the same one from the night he had sex with Lady Cassana, the one who was teasing him.

Ashara followed his gaze, "What is it?" She asked, "Oh, her?"

Ellion nodded, "She looks familiar." He said, "Do you know her?"

"Oh, that is Lord Hightower's daughter." Ashara said,

"Lady Malora."

***************

"What are you saying, Joanna?" Genna asked her, "You like Ellion? In what way?"

Joanna looked at her with a surprised expression, "W-What do you mean?" She said, "In what way?"

Genna covered her lower face with her fan, "I mean...." She said, "You like him, you said that."

"Yes, I do like him." Joanna said, "I think he is a good person with a good heart, that is what I said."

"Hm....." Genna said as she scanned her for a few seconds, "Are you sure it's not anything else."

Joanna blushed slightly, "W-What?" She said, "What are you saying, Genna?! Do not speak like that! You could get us in trouble!"

"You're the one that is saying you like Ellion, Joanna." Genna said with a chuckle, "By merely saying that in Tywin's presence is enough to get yourself and him in trouble. More of him, though."

"No, that's not what I intended!" Joanna said, "I....I am just saying that Ser Ellion is the only person who hasn't treated Tyrion the same as everyone. He means well, he is a good young man!"

"That is true." Genna said, "Despite how cocky he may act sometimes, he is a good boy, that Ellion."

Joanna looked down, "I don't know what to think anymore, Genna." She said, "I like that Ellion is here, but I don't want him to get hurt because of me."

"He will leave with the King soon." Genna said, "Do not worry about that."

Joanna looked at her, "Is that so?"

There was a bit of hurt in her eyes, something that Genna immediately caught. No matter how hard she tried, Joanna would be unable to hide something like that from Genna.

"You don't want that, do you?" Genna asked, fanning herself

"I don't know." Joanna said

"Hm..." Genna said, looking to the side as if she was in deep thought

"What is it?" Joanna asked her, "Genna...."

"You know, you speak as a Lady who is unhappy with her marriage." Genna looked at her, "Joanna, you can speak freely with me. You know nothing will leave this room, my beautiful sister."

"Yes...but..." Joanna looked down in shame, "That may be true."

"Well, as you may know." Genna covered her lower face with her fan, "Most unhappy Ladies do in fact satiate that in their own way, you know."

Joanna looked at her, immediately realizing what she meant, "W-What?!" She said, "What are you saying, Genna???"

Genna raised her eyebrows, "Hm, it's just a thought." She said with a chuckle, "Joanna, you know you can trust me, right?"

"I'll do right by you."
