Chapter 53 - Pay Attention

Pay more attention? I looked at Nil across the lunch table, eating away at her food with imperfect and sloppy movements.

The way she sat, thinking to herself as time passed by.

The way she sleeps with mangled hair and a single hand in her shirt.

Her stride was rather groggy in the morning.

The way she talks, often breaking sentences when I concentrate too hard… That's my fault.

Pretending that spicy food didn't affect her while totally dying when I 'wasn't looking'.

Even after repeating events, I felt a little bit more hopelessly drawn each time.

Small little mishaps coming across as… Kind of cute…

Clear mind…

I have been living with this for almost two years now, and in all that time, I think I noticed stuff like this on only 2 occasions.

Each time hopelessly drawn in, I feel a little more desire, something that in all my life I had never wanted to understand. A barrier created from past experiences, broken by one slightly annoying person.

I can't believe I listened to Lyia's advice… But something just resonated with what she said.
