Chapter 3 - The Gibberish of AI Herta

Baiming walked through the building in the guise of 'Great Herta'.

At the same time, he was pondering whether he counted as 'World Herta' or 'Fake Herta'.

Speaking of impersonation...

He should just take it seriously and treat himself as Herta.

Baiming prepared himself for this and decided to fully immerse himself in the role.

Then, the undisguised 'Herta' was quickly spotted by passing staff members.

"Madam Herta?! You actually came?!"

"Quickly, quickly! Madam Herta has graced the Space Station launch ceremony! Go find the person in charge!!"

"Madam Herta, where are you going? I'll lead the way for you."

'Herta' glanced at these people.

She waved her hand impatiently:

"Go do what you're supposed to be doing. I didn't come for this boring launch ceremony."

"Then, you..."

"I'm going to the Space Station. It's too badly built; it doesn't match my status. I'm going to personally upgrade it."

After speaking, 'Herta' tossed her long hair, summoned the key/wand-like object, and walked away, sitting sideways as she passed through the crowd.

This stroll naturally had a good effect.

In just a few minutes,

the news that Madam Herta had arrived at the Space Station launch site

spread across the entire Blue Planet.

This was only possible because Herta herself was holed up in the Clockie Tower in a corner of the galaxy, busy with who knows what.

Otherwise, she would be rushing over now to arrest someone.

But for now,

Herta clearly wasn't paying attention to the Space Station, and not even a puppet was in sight.

So, 'Herta' strutted out of the building with great fanfare.

She walked straight into the Space Station, which was already operational but hadn't yet launched, right in front of everyone.

A large number of cameras nearby captured this scene.

It even interrupted the speeches of the people in charge.

But no one dared to question Madam Herta.

In fact,

the very fact that Madam Herta could appear here at this time was an endorsement for everyone.

And 'Herta', of course, was doing it on purpose.

Just by walking this short distance,

and entering the Herta Space Station,

'Herta' watched her lifespan increase by five minutes:

[Character Impersonation System]

[Name: Baiming (Great Herta)]

[Lifespan: 08:26 (Paused) + 30 Days (Character Impersonation)]

[Available Transformation Characters: Great Herta]

[Available Draw Count: 0 (0.5%)]

Crucially, the lifespan gained through influence like this was directly added to the countdown.

Which is to say, it was added directly to Baiming himself.

At the same time, the progress bar next to the draw count also increased slightly.

It looks like

the number of times he can draw new characters is also obtained by causing trouble.

That saves him the hassle.

No need to worry about other things.

He only needs to focus on one task.

At this moment,

'Herta', having entered the Space Station, looked at the staff members already waiting inside.

She was thinking:

A simple firewall is definitely not enough.

There needs to be more after the firewall.

Would it be more sensational to make the Space Station stand up and fly into space on its own?

Or would it be more interesting to code an AI for the Space Station, turning it into a hyperactive AI Herta that would aggressively provoke the real Herta?

However, the former shouldn't be implemented in the first phase.

Although, relying on Herta's brain, just generating the idea would give him the desired result.

But the execution wouldn't be that quick.

'Herta' also didn't have a large group of Herta puppets to help do the grunt work for free.

The Space Station suddenly standing up would certainly be shocking.

But he also doesn't know if the real Herta is paying attention to the Space Station.

If she suddenly rushed over while he was only halfway done, that would be bad.

It's better to focus on the firewall and the Space Station's AI for now.

This way, even if Herta arrives, she won't be able to get in for a while, giving him enough time to operate.

Thinking this,

'Herta' went to the office where Herta is located in the game.

All permissions were enabled; simply opening the office equipment automatically granted maximum access.

However, the Space Station was quite empty right now.

There weren't many staff members yet either.

There wasn't much to see.

"Ugh, this firewall is so poorly written. Who wrote this... Delete, delete."

Relying on Herta's brain, she directly packaged and deleted the entire existing firewall.

Then, she started writing her own.

And, she'll tinker with an AI Herta to act as the Space Station's overall commander!

Thinking about the scene where Herta would rush over in a fury, only to be blocked outside,

and then be broadcast-questioned by the AI Herta with things like, 'Are you really Herta?',

'Herta' couldn't help but let out a little hum,

"Heh heh~"

Even the movement of her hands and her enthusiasm for work instantly became stronger.

It's safe to say that when people are doing something naughty,

they really aren't afraid of trouble.

Madam Herta's body was healthier and more flexible than Baiming had imagined.

And since she could also connect directly via brainwaves to input characters without manually typing.

'Herta' wrote the code extremely fast.

First, a brand new, upgraded, and powerful system firewall was freshly rolled out.

Then, with the flick of a finger, she sent a firewall upgrade notification to everyone and every device on the Space Station.

And she made everyone update their verification information to confirm their privilege level.

"Excellent. This way, it will be impossible for Herta to come and go as she pleases as if it were her own home~"

'Herta' looked at the operational firewall.

She rubbed her temples slightly, relieving her weary mind.

'Herta' wasn't tired, but Baiming, the fragile soul entity, was exhausted just from watching the process.

This device wasn't just responsible for network security; it was linked to the Space Station's defense system.

Excluding those with authority, any form of spatial jump would have to stop outside the Space Station.

Of course, the magnitude required to directly obliterate the Space Station doesn't count.

However, the thought of the real Herta arriving at the Space Station,

only to be baffled and blocked outside by her own firewall,

swept away most of Baiming's fatigue.

It just goes to show that a person truly doesn't fear exhaustion when doing bad things.

Continue, continue!

It's not over yet.

He still has an AI Herta to build, to act as the temporary Station Master.

If there's still time later,

he'll try to make the Space Station stand up.

Baiming already had a rough idea about the necessary modifications.

Plunging back into work,

this time, 'Herta' even audaciously recorded a partial slice of herself into the AI.

Naturally, she still performed the liveliness-modification as planned.

He just wonders if the real Herta, upon arrival, would eliminate this acting Station Master with extreme prejudice.

And by this time,

the launch ceremony outside seemed to finally be over, reaching the ignition phase.

'Herta' felt the slight vibration of the Space Station.

She activated the AI Herta.

Thinking that this AI Herta should broadcast Herta's Compliment Bot across all frequencies.

However, as is often the case, the unexpected happened.

Suddenly, a full-frequency broadcast was emitted from within the Herta Space Station:

"Ahem, at the moment of the Herta Space Station's ascent, I, the acting Station Master, AI Herta, am here to more cautiously examine the question of the Herta Space Station's ascent: The so-called Herta Space Station ascent, the key is how the Space Station needs to be used for ascent..."

"So, what is the crucial question, this question is asked very well, perfectly hitting the crucial point of the question. If we do not clarify the key question, we cannot recognize the cruciality of the question..."

'Herta', sitting upright in the office, heard this nonsensical speech and shuddered.

She nearly spat out the water she was drinking.

"Pfft—! Wait... what is this garbage? Where did this AI get all this ridiculous stuff??"
