The station lights buzzed overhead, too bright, too white, revealing every shadow and every threat. The second hooded figure stood perfectly still on the platform, waiting as if he already knew which door Aisha and Daniel would step through.
Daniel's hand tightened around hers.
"Stay close. Don't look at him."
Aisha swallowed hard. "Daniel… there are two of them now."
"I know," he muttered. "That's what worries me."
The train doors began to close.
The hooded man suddenly reached out—
and shoved his hand between them.
The doors jammed with a metallic thud.

But as they stepped out, Aisha froze.
A third hooded figure was standing at the far end of the platform.
Waiting.
Three of them.
Her breath left her body in a sharp gasp. "Daniel—what is this? Who are these people?"
Daniel guided her behind a column, eyes scanning, muscles coiled.
"They're part of the group I left. They don't forgive betrayal."
Aisha pressed a hand to her mouth. "And me? Why involve me?"
He hesitated.
"They think you're my weakness."
Before she could react, a voice echoed through the station.
Not loud.
Not shouting.
Just calm—and close.
"Daniel. Come with us quietly."
Aisha's blood ran cold.
The three hooded figures stepped forward in perfect sync.
Daniel moved in front of her again, shielding her with his body.
"Aisha," he whispered urgently, "no matter what happens… run when I tell you."
Her heart shattered. "I'm not leaving you."
"You won't have a choice."
