Chapter 3 - Lady Ningguang, Care to Crack a Jar?

The jars in the shop weren't just random inventory. They were Felix's daily allowance from the system.

The more jars he sold, the higher the quality of his daily supply would become, increasing the odds of pulling high-tier items.

On top of that, for every hundred jars sold, he received a "Exclusive Jar" as a reward—a special container guaranteed to yield an item that would increase his own personal power.

The contents of these jars were bizarre and boundless. There was nothing you couldn't find, only things you couldn't imagine.

As Felix was musing on this, the crowd outside the shop, who had been craning their necks and gossiping, suddenly fell silent. A whisper rippled through them: "Lady Ningguang is here."

The sea of people parted automatically, their faces filled with a mix of reverence and awe.

A woman with long, platinum-blonde hair, styled with a black and gold hairpin and cascading down to her calves, walked toward them.

A crimson tassel hung from her forehead, matching the hue of her eyes.

She wore black sleeves with golden finger guards, her wide sleeves flowing naturally at her sides. A white fur stole was draped around her neck, complementing her qipao of gold, white, and black.

The hem of her dress resembled a bird's tail, and golden phoenix patterns adorned the collar.

At her waist hung a deep gold fan-shaped ornament, with a Geo Vision suspended from it as a pendant. Her legs were bare, save for a striking red tattoo on her left thigh.

Just by walking, she exuded an overwhelming aura of nobility and majesty, like an empress descending upon her subjects.

As the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, she controlled the commercial lifeblood of Liyue Harbor. Sitting in her high position, she symbolized not only power and law but also wealth and intellect.

Unlike some of the other Qixing who preferred to stay in the shadows, believing caution was the best policy, the Tianquan was an exception.

To her enemies, she was a formidable merchant; to children, a kind big sister; to the socialites at Yujing Terrace, a star of the banquet; to the culinary world, a connoisseur of desserts...

Mention Ningguang, and everyone had something to say, as if they knew her personally.

"Heavens, it's Lady Ningguang. She's actually here."

"I finally get to see Lady Ningguang again. The last time was at the festival months ago. I'm so happy I could die!"

"The incident here must have really alarmed her. I wonder how she'll handle it? I hope she doesn't just shut the shop down."

"She shouldn't shut it down. She's probably just here to understand the situation."

"Lady Ningguang is as beautiful as ever. I'm so jealous. Even as a woman, I can't help but admire her."

...

The pedestrians whispered among themselves, their gazes following her with admiration and respect.

Ningguang was, without a doubt, the most noble and dedicated of the Qixing in the hearts of the Liyue people.

As she walked, Ningguang heard their praises and nodded with a faint smile, acknowledging them.

If not for today's events, she certainly wouldn't have left the Jade Chamber.

Looking at the small jar shop not far ahead, Ningguang knew she had arrived.

I wonder, she thought, what kind of person owns this shop?

"Lady Ningguang."

Seeing her approach, the Millelith guards at the door immediately bowed in respectful greeting.

Ningguang treated the Millelith well, ensuring their food and benefits were top-notch, so every soldier held her in high esteem.

"En," Ningguang nodded. "Is the shopkeeper inside? You haven't made things difficult for him, have you?"

It wouldn't be good if they had caused a scene. But the Millelith were disciplined; they wouldn't do such a thing.

"No, my Lady."

The guard shook his head quickly. "Captain Changqing is inside talking to him now. Everything is calm. We are merely maintaining order here."

"Good."

Ningguang nodded in satisfaction and stepped inside.

As she entered, her gaze swept over the entire shop in an instant.

It was a very ordinary room. No expensive decor.

Just a counter, a table, and some chairs.

There was a staircase leading to the second floor, presumably the living quarters.

In front of the counter, Captain Changqing, clad in Millelith armor, had his back to her.

And then, she saw the young man.

The moment she laid eyes on Felix, Ningguang was slightly surprised. The shopkeeper is... surprisingly young.

In her estimation, someone capable of selling Visions should have been an elder, or at least a middle-aged man seasoned by life. Perhaps a white-haired sage.

She never expected a young man of barely seventeen or eighteen. He was handsome, certainly, but far too young.

Behind him stood rows of jars.

They were simple, unadorned clay pots. Looking at them, it was hard to imagine that Zhang's Vision had come from one of these.

While Ningguang was observing him, Felix was also observing the woman who had just walked in—the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing.

Whether it was her face or her perfectly proportioned figure, she was flawless. It was easy to have a favorable impression of her.

"Lady Ningguang!"

Sensing someone enter, Captain Changqing turned around. seeing it was Ningguang, he immediately bowed.

"It's fine. You may leave us," Ningguang said with a light smile. "I wish to speak with the shopkeeper."

"Yes, my Lady!"

The captain didn't hesitate. He saluted and marched out of the shop.

As the door closed behind him, Ningguang turned to Felix, extending her hand with a polite smile. "Hello, Shopkeeper. I am Ningguang. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"Hello."

Felix smiled and shook her hand. "The Tianquan of Liyue. I'm Felix. As you can see, I'm just a humble jar merchant."

"Do you need to open a jar?"

Felix grinned. "A common jar is one hundred thousand Mora. I've heard that Lady Ningguang, the Tianquan, is never short on coin. I think you should open a few."
