Chapter 7 - The Joy of Collection

"I don't have enough Mora on me to buy everything right now. I'll have to wait until tomorrow. Besides, I need to test these items to see if they truly work as you say."

Hearing Felix's words, Ningguang cast a deep, calculating look at him and the jars behind him.

If she hadn't been short on cash, she would have had the urge to buy out the entire stock immediately.

She didn't know if every jar contained treasures of the caliber she had just pulled. If they did, Liyue would be thrown into chaos overnight.

She had to be prepared.

As for stopping Felix from selling them? That was impossible.

He was running a legitimate business and hadn't harmed Liyue. She had no legal grounds to shut him down.

Furthermore, if she bought everything herself, it would be unfair to the citizens waiting outside. As the Tianquan, she had a duty to look after the people of Liyue.

With this in mind, Ningguang smiled at Felix. "Shopkeeper Felix, is your supply of jars unlimited?"

Just because she wasn't buying them all today didn't mean she wouldn't come back tomorrow to clean him out!

With her vast wealth, buying every jar in the shop was trivial.

There were fewer than a hundred jars on the shelves. She wanted to know if he could restock them indefinitely.

"The supply isn't unlimited."

Felix chuckled, shaking his head. "I have a limited daily quota. Once they're sold out, that's it for the day."

As he spoke, Ningguang gathered the items on the counter.

The Eternal Youth Pill, the Senzu Bean, the Explosive Tags, the Devil Fruit... and the book.

The book was thin, only a dozen pages or so. But the bold title, Economics & Management, caught her eye immediately.

She flipped it open.

Within seconds, her expression shifted from mild interest to intense gravity.

She stopped speaking, her eyes glued to the text, reading with ferocious concentration.

The room fell silent, save for the crisp sound of turning pages.

Felix wasn't surprised by her reaction.

Ningguang was Liyue's top financier, but compared to the economic theories of other worlds, her knowledge had gaps. The wisdom of his previous world—ideas that had toppled dragons and built empires—was unparalleled.

Ningguang was a self-made titan, standing at the apex of Teyvat's commerce. Yet, her economic philosophy was bound by her era.

This book would open a new door for her.

As Felix watched, Ningguang turned the pages, her face a mask of shock and awe.

The concepts in the book mirrored her own thoughts but were far more advanced, more complete!

It explained economic shifts, capital flow, and systems she had never even conceived of. She felt like a dry sponge dropped into the ocean.

It was no exaggeration to say that the content in these few pages could turn any merchant into a financial grandmaster.

For a merchant, the ultimate evolution was to become an economist.

Ningguang read every word, devouring the text.

But a dozen pages were too few. She finished it quickly.

And the moment she finished, she realized the horror: it was incomplete. The text cut off abruptly.

The feeling of being interrupted right at the moment of enlightenment was excruciating.

Even though it was short, it had already shattered her world view.

"This book is incomplete."

Ningguang looked at Felix with her beautiful eyes, suppressing her excitement. "Can you tell me what happens next?"

If the jar produced this, Felix must know the rest.

After all, he stocked the jars.

If she could learn the rest, she could revolutionize Liyue's market.

"Since it's incomplete, that means there's a full version. If you want the rest of the knowledge, you'll have to open more jars."

Seeing her agitation, Felix spoke calmly. "Think of it as a series. For example, a set of seven volumes. The book you hold is just the first volume."

"To get the other volumes, you have to keep opening jars. But not every jar contains a book. It's all random. Trying to collect a full set... well, it's very, very difficult."

This was the charm of the gacha.

Some items were fragmented. To get the whole, you had to collect, to keep pulling, to piece it together.

It was like a certain game where you pulled for your 'waifu.' Getting the character was just Constellation 0.

To make her stronger, you had to keep pulling. Constellation 1, Constellation 2...

Ordinary people stopped at one.

Whales aimed for C2 or C3 for the best value.

Leviathans went for C6.

And all of this assumed you didn't lose your 50/50 to Qiqi.

Pulling a random item was bad enough. Trying to pull a specific series from a limitless pool? That was hell.

"I'll buy them all!"

Ningguang didn't hesitate. She slammed her hand on the counter.

The value of this book alone justified buying out the shop.

This knowledge was too dangerous. If the Fatui got their hands on it, they could destroy Liyue's economy.

As the Tianquan, she and the Yuheng, Keqing, barely managed to keep the Northland Bank in check. If the Fatui gained this economic superweapon, it would be a disaster.

Liyue must not fall into chaos!

"I'm sorry, but you can only buy five more jars."

Felix looked at her calmly. "Each customer is limited to ten jars per week."

It wasn't that he didn't want to sell. He literally couldn't.

"What!"

Ningguang, who was about to order the Mora to be brought in, furrowed her brows. "You have a purchase limit?"

Ten jars a week.

Did that mean she couldn't buy any more for the next seven days?
