Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1 - A SHINOBI’S SECOND LIFE

Shen Tian lay on his small bed, staring at the glowing LED screen of his laptop, his heart pounding with excitement. His eyes didn't blink, his fingers trembled slightly, and his breathing was uneven—not because of illness this time, but because today was Thursday.

For ordinary people, Thursday was just another day between Wednesday and Friday. For Shen Tian, Thursday was sacred.

Naruto update day.

To others, Naruto was "just anime." But for Shen Tian, Naruto was conviction, purpose, and adrenaline compressed into animation frames. People admired heroes, idols, or celebrities—but he admired shinobi.

He admired Uchiha Itachi's calmness, Naruto's stubborn resolve, Minato's elegance, and even Madara's terrifying strength. Every Thursday, he locked himself in his room to watch the latest episode, ignoring clubs, parties, and even meals.

While his classmates wondered why he sprinted home after class like a criminal escaping the police, some even assumed he had a secret girlfriend. Once, a few followed him, intending to catch him in some scandal.

Their imaginations died instantly after they saw him burst into his room, open his laptop, and launch Naruto with solemn dedication, as if he were guarding the Hokage's office. They stared blankly, wondering how someone could be this obsessed. In the end, they were the ones who felt defeated.

Today's episode was a highly anticipated revelation. Rumor said a character's identity would finally be exposed. Shen Tian's frail heart beat wildly as he stared at the advertisement countdown on the screen.

10… 9… 8…

His breathing grew heavier. His eyes widened until they practically reflected the numbers on the screen.

3… 2… 1…

BUFFERING ERROR: CODE 2011.

Shen Tian froze, then his entire temperament changed.

"F**K! WHAT KIND OF TRASH SITE IS THIS!?"

He threw the nearest object—a mug still full of tea—straight at his laptop. A split second later, he realized his mistake.

Water and electricity never get along.

Blue sparks burst from the power socket like a Chidori gone berserk. The electricity surged forward, racing toward Shen Tian's hand. The last thought he had before everything turned black was:

"I swear I'll never throw anything again…"

Silence followed.

He didn't know how long he drifted in that void. His consciousness floated, weightless, unaware of time. Then, whispers echoed around him, ancient and powerful.

Power beyond this world.

The will of a shinobi.

Defy destiny.

His eyes opened.

A gentle breeze brushed his face. He found himself lying beside a clear stream surrounded by towering trees so large it felt like he was inside an ancient fairytale. Birds—some with sparkling feathers and glowing eyes—flew through the sky.

Shen Tian slowly sat up. His body felt different. Stronger. Lighter. His chest did not ache. His heartbeat was firm. He checked his wrist and his pulse was steady.

He wasn't sick anymore.

"Where am I?"

Suddenly, pain struck his head and countless foreign memories poured into him. He saw unfamiliar images, names, emotions, and fragments of history.

Azure Sky Continent.

Shen Clan.

Outcast son.

No cultivation talent.

Abandoned. Hunted. Left for dead in the Magical Beast Forest.

Shen Tian blinked slowly and let out a weak laugh.

"So I died on Earth… and I'm a loser here too? Is this my fate?"

He sighed, thinking of his parents and younger sister. A sense of helplessness washed over him. They would never know what happened. They would grieve while he was reborn in a world full of monsters and martial strength.

His throat felt dry, so he crawled to the stream and leaned down to drink. But when he saw his reflection in the water, he froze.

The youth in the reflection was not ugly. In fact, he was handsome in a clean, sharp way. But this wasn't what shocked Shen Tian.

His eyes.

Scarlet. Bright. Alive.

In each eye, a single tomoe rotated like a blood-red crescent moon.

His heart skipped a beat.

"This is…"

He leaned closer, unable to believe it.

"This is the Sharingan!"

A chill ran through his spine, followed by something else—excitement. Real excitement. The kind he never truly experienced before.

Shen Tian clenched his fists, his reflection smirking back at him with newfound confidence.

"A cultivation world filled with Qi… and I have the power of a shinobi?"

He stood up, eyes glowing faintly.

"Heaven took my life once. Let's see if it can stop me now."

His voice carried confidence he never had in his past life.

A new world.

A new identity.

A new power.

Shen Tian's journey had just begun.

Shen Tian stared at his reflection for a long time, unable to calm the excitement boiling in his chest. The Sharingan was supposed to exist only in the Naruto world, a gift exclusive to the Uchiha clan. Yet here he was, in an entirely different world, with those same scarlet eyes staring back at him.

For a moment, he wondered if this was a hallucination caused by the electricity frying his brain. But the cold water against his skin, the unfamiliar sky, and the strength in his body told him otherwise. This was real, completely real.

His stomach suddenly grumbled loudly, breaking the tension. A powerful eye technique could not fill an empty stomach. Shen Tian looked around helplessly.

"I have eyes that can copy jutsu and terrify enemies, yet I still lose to hunger. Wonderful."

He scanned the surroundings. The trees were enormous, some thicker than houses. Strange glowing fruits hung from several branches, flickering with energy. They looked magical and tempting, but Shen Tian had read enough fantasy novels to know glowing food was either miraculous or deadly. He decided not to risk eating one and dying for a second time.

He sat beside the stream, organizing his thoughts. As foreign memories blended with his own, he learned the story of the body he now inhabited.

This world was called Azure Sky Continent. The Shen Clan, once respected, had declined due to internal conflicts. Shen Tian was born without cultivation talent, making him a disgrace in a world where power was everything. Mocked by servants, ignored by the elders, and eventually framed by jealous relatives, he was cast out like trash.

After his exile, assassins hunted him. The original Shen Tian died in this forest, abandoned and forgotten.

Shen Tian sighed deeply. His new identity was troublesome. He had no backing, no strength, and no allies. He was a weakling in a world where weakness was a death sentence.

However, unlike the original, he was not defenseless. He was reborn with the Sharingan and the chakra system.

He stood up and tested his body. His limbs were lean but flexible. There was no lingering pain, no sign of illness. This body was young and full of potential.

He focused inward, recalling how chakra was used in Naruto. To his astonishment, he felt it flowing inside him like a river, warm and vibrant. It reacted to his will, gathering with ease.

Shen Tian took a steady breath and formed hand seals. His fingers trembled slightly at first, but muscle memory seemed to guide him.

"Clone Technique."

A puff of smoke appeared beside him. A hazy, unstable copy stood there for barely two seconds before dissolving into nothing. It was weak and imperfect, but it existed.

Shen Tian's eyes widened. He did not need Qi, cultivation manuals, or sect guidance. He had chakra. He had ninjutsu. He had the Sharingan.

"In a world like this, I might actually stand above everyone."

Just as he was starting to feel confident, the bushes behind him rustled. Shen Tian turned sharply. His Sharingan flickered, and he instinctively analyzed the movement.

A massive wolf stepped out. Its fur sparked with electricity, and every breath it exhaled crackled with lightning. Its eyes were golden and predatory, fixed directly on Shen Tian.

A memory surfaced in his mind. This was a Thunderfang Wolf, a magical beast capable of tearing apart human warriors with ease. A creature like this was equivalent to a cultivator who had already stepped far beyond an ordinary mortal.

Shen Tian felt his heart squeeze. First day in another world and he already attracted his death sentence.

The wolf growled. Lightning danced along its fangs. Shen Tian stepped back, legs tense.

"Calm down. Think like a shinobi. Observe. Predict. React."

The Sharingan rotated faster. Suddenly, the wolf's movements slowed in his vision. The subtle twitch in its muscles, the tightening of its limbs, the sparks along its claws. Everything became clear.

Shen Tian inhaled sharply.

"So this is the power of the Sharingan."

The wolf pounced.

Shen Tian reacted.

The battle for survival had begun.

The Thunderfang Wolf lunged, its massive body blurring as crackling lightning surged along its legs. Shen Tian felt the ground tremble beneath its weight. In his past life, he would have frozen in fear. In this life, something awakened within him the moment danger appeared.

His Sharingan spun.

The wolf's leap, its trajectory, even its killing intent became vivid patterns Shen Tian could read. It was like the world slowed down for him alone.

Shen Tian dodged to the right. The wolf's claws slashed the air where his head had been only a heartbeat ago. Sparks scattered, burning marks into the earth.

His heart pounded wildly. He had no combat experience, no training, no teacher. All he had were memories of battles he had only seen on a screen and instincts telling him to move.

The wolf turned with a snarl and charged again. Shen Tian ducked behind a tree. Electricity exploded against the trunk, blasting it apart. Wood fragments rained everywhere.

"This thing is insane. If I take one hit, I'm dead for sure."

Shen Tian retreated, but the Sharingan kept reading the wolf's movements, giving him just enough time to avoid each deadly strike. Even so, he could not run forever. His lungs were burning, and his chakra reserves were low.

He needed a plan.

His eyes narrowed.

"Hand seals. A distraction. I can do that much."

He forced himself to breathe calmly and focused. The wolf crouched low, preparing to pounce with full force.

Shen Tian's fingers moved.

"Clone Technique."

Smoke appeared. Three clones surrounded him, each copying his stance. They were not strong or perfect, but the wolf hesitated for a split second.

That was enough.

Shen Tian stepped back while the clones charged toward the beast. The wolf tore through the first clone, lightning shredding it instantly. The second clone grabbed its fur, slowing it briefly before being destroyed. The third clone caught its attention from the side.

Shen Tian exhaled sharply. His chakra was almost gone, but his Sharingan kept spinning. He could feel it burning inside his skull, yet it did not stop.

The wolf turned toward him again.

Shen Tian watched its muscles coil. He anticipated the direction, the timing, the speed. The Sharingan reflected everything.

"Move."

He rolled to the left, narrowly avoiding another electrified pounce. The wolf crashed into a stone, shattering it. Rocks scattered everywhere.
