Chapter 5 - Promises, decisions and judgment to the new beginning: Part two

Early in the morning all the six remaining keepers sat in the boardroom, there was one empty seat available and a silent Jonathan while the other keepers discussed on finding a new replacement for the dead elder. Shin, one of the keepers noticed how Jonathan was uncomfortable, "What's wrong Jonathan?" he asked, "Don't tell me the death of that old man has affected you that bad. It's your role as a keeper to shoulder the weight of the universe and a mere death of an old man causes you grief? how disappointing…"

"I'm sorry…" Jonathan answered, "I know the responsibilities and consequences of being a keeper, but..." he said in a lower tone, "I find it hard that all of you see it fit to completely ignore the death of Saturn like that, it feels off in my case for him to die all of a sudden."

"Stop it Jonathan." Shin cut him off, "We know it hurts you but there's nothing we can do, he's already dead and we are still alive…" he continued, "But that old man was already nearing his expectant age, so it doesn't make any difference to us for him to die a little earlier."

Jonathan stood up angrily, "But!" but Shin cut him off, "No buts Jonathan." Julius who was watching the whole thing told Jonathan, "Stop it Jonathan, those meaningless emotions you are displaying aren't allowed here. I think you need some time to rest as we continue the meeting okay?" Jonathan was reluctant at first, but quickly gave in when all the other keepers insisted, "Okay…" he left in slow manner leaving the boardroom.

He walked for a while before heading to Saturn's room instead of his where he found Leviticus the captain of the Holy knights guarding the door to his room. Leviticus bowed down to greet him, "Good day to you Jonathan… I presume the board meeting on the future about Saturn's death has finished?"

"No it's not done yet," Jonathan answered, "I've only been sent here to countercheck on the room a little bit." "Oh really?" Leviticus asked, "Then you may proceed… But it still saddens me to go through Saturn's death, he was more like a brother to me…"

"I'm sorry," Jonathan apologized. "No reason to apologize," he answered, "Jonathan, you are a good boy, don't let anyone change the way you are okay… you can proceed." "Okay, thank you" Jonathan answered as he opened the door.

He was all alone in the room, a cold silent breeze blew around the room from the opened window, the only thing in the room were shelves filled with books and a small well spread bed in the room. He moved closer to where the body was found and knelt downwards to inspect the area. He rubbed his two fingers on the flow and noticed small traces of blood on the flow and they were completely fresh. He stood up in confusion on how that was actually possible for blood to remain fresh till now.

He went to the shelves and checked all the books and checked under his bed if he could find anything suspicious. He stood up and looked around and noticed a book on the window, he went towards and picked it up before looking at the window. He was surprised on how high the room was and that there were only stars floating at the end of the High Court. He noted that the only way someone could enter the room was through the door only or risking their life to being sucked into the void and then he tried opening the window but it didn't budge. He noticed that it was sealed with magic.

He looked at the book he took from the shelf, it didn't have a title. He opened it and only found ancient texts written 'thgil fo noisnecsed tsac nopu ot laever eht neddih sterces', upon muttering those words,

The small shelf next to him moved revealing a hidden passage way. Jonathan looked around before he walked inside the passage way, he found a staircase leading downwards to darkness, he lit a flame with orgone from his hand and walked down the stairs. He walked for almost ten minutes before he found a huge door which had a small hole at the middle.

When he got close to the door to examine it, the book he held started glowing and floated towards the hole filling the space. Then the whole room lit revealing texts written on the walls saying 'The truth shall be known' and the door opened.

He walked inside and found a small room that was lit by candles. There was a table in the middle of the room which had a book placed on top of it. He walked towards the table and took the book, it had the title 'Saturn'. He opened it and found out it was Saturn's diary. He quickly perused through the notes and noticed that they were notes of his research. He continued opening pages until he found a page with a few sentences than normal, he read them, "Jonathan, if you are reading this then I may have lost my life or misplaced my book, but that seems unlikely so let's just say I lost my life. I'm sorry I made you experience another loss again, but it was unavoidable, because of my long research origins of the universe I noted two things… First is that I discovered that there was first a supreme being who ruled the universe with complete authority before completely disappearing before the High court emerged. I don't what caused the being to actually disappear so I'm just going to skip that topic. The next thing I discovered is that the other keepers can't actually handle a joke so I think they planned to kill me before finding the reason of the beings disappearance, but I think you will be able to find the truth for yourself in the book I promised before, so… be careful around those guys because I won't be around you this time."

Jonathan closed the book and quickly ran out of the room with tears on his face carrying the small book, he hurried upstairs and exited and closed the hidden passage way and stood still for a moment to regain his cool for a bit. He walked slowly outside the room before immediately running to the court library, but he almost bumped into Leviticus. He completely ignored him and zoomed past him in a rush leaving Leviticus confused at the halls.

He went to the entrance of the court library but was stopped by Shin at the entrance, "Didn't we tell you to head back to your room at the board meeting?" he asked in suspicion. Quickly hiding the diary he answered, "Eh… I was… just from the bathroom, yes, bathroom! And I was heading to my room." Shin looked in disappointment before asking him, "I never knew your room was in the court library these days?" he sighed before continuing, "Can you stop lying to me already, Leviticus already told me everything already."

Jonathan was shocked for a second, "So the lie was that flat huh?" he sighed in disappointment, "But I think I may have a clue on what caused sensei's death." Shin looked rather annoyed from his claim, "I can't believe you're still on that old geezer's death? Saturn is dead and dead is what he will be and he will remain that way!" shouted in anger. "But-" he defended. "No buts! Just go to your room already, we are all worried about you so please just go already, we will send the royal guards to guard your room and the area, so no leaving your room until we approve you have completely recovered okay?" he said, "I think that's what your parents would have wanted," he added. "Okay…" he held his anger before leaving Shin alone at the entrance of the court library.

Later that night, the window at Jonathan's room brought in the light of the universe's stars inside the room. It was empty, and the only thing inside was the diary open on top of his book on a page that was written, "If you want to find the truth yourself, go find the forbidden book at the center of the court library."

Back in the forbidden realm

It was night time in the realm, the stars shone brightly on clear skies. Mona and Loid were sitting on top of a branch of a tree inside the courtyard of the palace. Mona looked at the stars silently, "The stars are sure beautiful tonight huh?" she said. Loid looked at them for brief second, "I guess so?..." he answered. "You guess so huh?" she said sighed, "I've tried everything that could have recovered your memories in the past week and so I tried something you really liked doing in the past, looking at the stars," she said before looking at him.

"Really?" he asked as he looked at the stars again, "Do you know why I liked looking at them?" he asked again. "I actually never asked you, because you looked really relaxed when we looked at the stars together," she answered. "Maybe it's just…. I really liked being alone with you…." He answered in a cool voice.

She rested her head on his shoulders while closing her eyes with a small smile on her face, "Throwing words like that really is great in times like this huh?" she told him. "It's true, speaking through my heart, I really feel at ease with you by my side."

Blushing, she hid her face, "Maybe it's not too bad having you like this…. But I still made a promise to recover your memories and I also have an idea to do it now." "You do?" he asked. "Yeah, we just need to make a quick visit to the library tomorrow, but…." Getting more comfortable resting on his shoulder, "Let's just sit here for a while and enjoy ourselves for a bit.

"Okay…" he said then he took his ruby amulet and looked at for a bit. Mona peeked for a bit and asked, "Hmmm, you still have that amulet huh?" before she completely fell asleep. Loid looked at her silently as he slowly patted her head, "I see…."

Back in the living realm

Deep inside the court library, Jonathan was walking for more than two hours. He followed the trail of orgone on the ground and was slowly getting exhausted from the orgone in the air that got denser and denser the more he followed the trail, but when he continued walking, he found a section of the library that didn't have lights at all. When he reached there, he found a dark book floating at the center surrounded by red candles that didn't produce any light at all. He went closer and closer to the book, but the air became heavier and heavier the closer he got until he held it. He felt a stream of energy flowing through his body as he read the title of the book, "Movain"

Back in the forbidden realm

Mona and Loid were walking through the main halls of the palace as Loid looked around with amazement, "Wow… this place is actually huge, like it seems like there's no actual end to it," he said in astonishment. "Yeah, something like that… The palace actually gets bigger and bigger each passing second to provide space for anything new," she explained.

"That's really amazing if you ask me, but you said you were going to the library yesterday?" he asked as they walked. "Yes," she answered, "I think there is a book I've been reading lately that's actually gonna help you recover your memories for sure or if that fails, I suppose I have no other choice to visit her," she added. "Her? But wait… you said book? You actually read books?" he asked in surprise.

"What's that supposed to mean!?" she asked in annoyance, "I mostly spend most of my time reading the books in the library, it has all the books, both new, old or lost in the living realm," she answered him. They reached the entrance of the library and both entered. "All the books huh?" he asked, "That's actually amazing," he continued. "And that lets me know everything on the current trends on the living realm, buuuut…. I mostly know everything through the knowledge prompt inside the library," she said in a funny voice.

"You also have a knowledge prompt?" he asked in sarcasm. "Yeah, it enables me to collect information of everything that peaks my interest, both hidden and unhidden," she answered, "I even know everything about the six keepers and their goals," she added. "Seven…" he corrected her. "Seven?" she asked in confusion. "Yes, the keepers are seven," he answered her. "Are you sure? Because even their symbol is a star with six tips right?"

"But during the ritual, they were seven…" he said in a thoughtful manner. "Must have been someone else like the captain of the royal knights, like he is supposed to be around the keepers 24/7," he answered him. "Hmmm…" Loid was seemed disturbed until they reached where the book Mona was looking for. His concentration was completely averted by the book, it was pure white floating in the middle and had the title 'Movain'.

"Movain? What does it mean," he asked her. She looked at him and answered him, "I think this time you should find the meaning alone, since you were the one who actually name it." Then the book opened as its pages opened in a fast manner, "Oh, it's already starting huh? But before we continue, Loid I think I need to teach you something," she told him.

"Teach me what?" he asked her. "Do you know what Sky is to me?" she asked him. "An assistant and friend," he answered. She looked at him with admiration, "Correct, but not just that, she is also my familiar." "Familiar?" he asked. "Yes, a familiar is a spirit that links to your life force and enables you to share your orgone with it together and I think you need a familiar too."

"Okay if you insist, so how then?" he asked her. "By just creating one," she answered him as she took his left hand and closed her eyes. She focused her thoughts and channeled the energy around the area together. Then her navy blue crown appeared on her head as Loid's orgone collected on his palm to form a small bat.

The bat looked around before looking at Loid, "Hmmm…". "So that's it?" Loid asked Mona. "Yep, this little guy is your family," she told him. "Hello master, can I ask you to give me a name," the bat told Loid. "Name?" he asked. "Yeah, Sky also asked me to give her a name the day I summoned her with my friend," she answered him.

"A name you say…. How about Shimmer," he told the bat. "Shimmer is a great name master and how can I be of assistance now?" he told him. "Can you tell him to help Sky upstairs?" she asked Loid. "Well, you heard her," he told Shimmer. "Okay master," then he disappeared in front of them.

"Okay then, lets continue," she said in a low serious tone, then the whole library disappeared as everything turned white, leaving Mona and Loid alone. Before Loid could ask anything, Mona pointed at a distance where he saw a man and a woman together. When they got closer to them they heard a baby crying, the woman was holding a newly born baby at her hands. "Who are they?" he asked. "These people… are my parents and the baby is me. This is the time I was born as a Celestial, my parents were both gods," she answered him.

"Celestial?" he asked in confusion. "Beings at the top of the hierarchy, they have unimaginable power, not even the gods can light a torch close to them. Gods usually do anything they can to obtain that level even sacrificing everything to do it," she answered him. "Okay… where are your parents now?" he asked.

Mona lowered her gaze, "Honestly… I don't know myself," she told him. "What do you mean by that?" he asked in surprise. "Just look," she answered him.

Not long before she answered him, the woman came into view clutching her baby tightly to her chest. Her movements were unsteady and her breathing was heavy. Exhaustion was written clearly written across her face.

Then the man appeared in front of her. She froze.

"There's no point trying to run," he said calmly, "We already made a pact so you can't possibly get away from me, so just hand over the child already."

The woman held the child closer, "I'm sorry honey, but that's just a no for me," she told him with a smile.

"All this time you wait and decide to betray me when I'm almost done attaining true divinity," he scoffed, "At least show some faith in me."

"How can I show faith to a man with ambitions like that," she snapped, "You're willing to sacrifice your only child for a stupid title."

"Calling it some stupid title is very insulting you know…" he replied coldly. "Stop this already, we can still return to what we were at first," she told him slowly.

He sighed, as if disappointed, "It's for the better of us, we decided to create this thing as a key to obtain total divinity."

Her hands trembled as her anger slowly rose, "How could you call our daughter a thing to obtain such rubbish titles, you will regret it."

"Regret it huh?" he laughed, "So what are you going to do? You are just a god good in healing and me, a god of war, you are just a tool I needed to accomplish my goal."

She stared at him in disbelief, "I knew that stupid title and search for power had completely corrupted your mind…. But I never imagined you'd go this far."

A faint smile crossed his face, "Then let me show you what I'm capable of to accomplish my stupid goal."

In a swift motion, he forced her to the ground, as the baby began to cry, the sound echoed sharply through the air. The man raised his hand, and a strange light gathered in his palm, it was cold, unnatural and terrifying, he manifested a sword hilt. The man raised the hilt, his eyes burning with madness.

The woman struggled to rise, her arms shaking, "Please… no!"

"It's too late," he declared, "Prepare yourself and witness the birth of a new celestial!"

Before the hilt could fall, the baby suddenly began to glow. A brilliant light burst forth, swallowing the room in white. The man screamed in pain as the radiance consumed him as his form dissolved into nothingness.

When the woman opened her eyes, she found herself lying on the ground. The baby's cries echoed softly nearby. She crawled towards her, and pulled her close, holding her tightly.

"Don't cry… it's okay now," she whispered to her ear as she took the sword hilt that was lying on the ground.

"I can't believe that father of yours," she smiled, "He really tried to kill you… but it's safe now, so can you give mommy a smile…"

The baby suddenly laughed, an innocent sound to her mother's ears, "That's it…" She held her daughter closer, "We could have lived happily together, but…. I think it's safer for you living alone without me… so can you grow up strong and punch your father for me when he comes, okay," Her voice weakened, yet her eyes remained gentle.

She then pressed her lips to the child's forehead and kissed her, granting all her blessings. She the lifted the hilt and stabbed herself. A powerful surge of orgone filled the area. Mountains rose, valleys formed and the world reshaped itself. At the heart of it all, a great palace emerged, hiding the child safely.

The woman's body dissolved into light, transforming into a sacred white blade that floated high above the newly born realm. A vast barrier spread outward, enclosing the world and protecting it from the outside forces.

"That's it… that's my story," Mona said quietly. "It's actually kinda funny on how I still hold these memories yet… I still don't know where he actually is."

Loid said nothing. He remained silent the entire time.

Mona tilted her head slightly in curiosity, "Hey… what's wrong, you've been awfully quiet all of a sudden.

Loid was still silent before he slowly tilted towards Mona, "I think… I think, I've seen your father before…"
