"Open the gates! We've found two girls!" Guard two calls out, causing the gates to open. A bright yellow light filtering through like the heavens. The guards bring the girls to the palace of Yellow. As they walk, people look scared, some surprised but all curious.
They reach the palace, shining golden and vibrant yellow all over. They walk to the throne room, Coraline still demanding answers and Violet just starting to realize that they are screwed. "Oh shut up, Pink. We're almost there" Guard one demands. "No!" Coraline yells.
They reach the throne room, the shining golden doors opening and revealing the royals of the Yellow Kingdom. The Queen, Summer Yellow, is seated on the left throne. The King, Albert Yellow, is seated on the throne right in the middle. The Crown Prince, Samuel Yellow, is seated on the right throne. The Crown Princesses, Springal and Samantha Yellow, are seated next to the Queen. And lastly the youngest Princess, Sunervia, is standing next to the Queen's throne. Interesting, not seated at a throne, Violet thought.
"Who are these girls, General?" The King's voice boomed in the throne room. "My King, we found them on the trail outside of the kingdoms" guard one, later revealed to be General Landon, says as he bows. "Those are Princesses Violetta Purple and Coraline Pi-" Queen Summer starts to say but King Albert interjects.
"Not another word, you useless woman," King Albert says, his words filled with venom. Queen Summer lowers her head. How could he treat his own wife like that? She's his Queen! Violet thought, completely and utterly shocked that the King treats HIS Queen so poorly.
"Father, mother is correct. These are Princesses Violetta of the Purple Kingdom and Coraline of the Pink Kingdom," said Prince Samuel to his father. Amazing, he's a daddy's boy, thought Coraline. "Ah, correct my son," King Albert says to Prince Samuel. "General, let the girls speak," King Albert commanded. General Landon begrudgingly pushed the girls near the throne.
"Why are you here?" Asked Queen Summer. "We were passing through the land of no color, on our way to the Kingdom of Red," Coraline answered. "Why were you traveling to the Red Kingdom?" Princess Samantha asks. "Well, it's kinda complicated with-," Violet started before Coraline interrupted.
"We were going to visit my cousin, Princess Ruby Red," Coraline said, her voice smooth. "Distant cousin, with me at least," Violet added. "How did you cross the border of the Secondary Empire into this Primary Empire?"
"We simply used the Breakishiti spell of Pink," Coraline said. "Lair!" King Albert called out, his voice strong and commanding, "No woman could pull off a spell strong enough to break the barrier around the Primary Empire!"
"Well believe it!" Coraline fires back. King Albert's eyes widened in rage. "How dare you incompetent fool of a girl talk back to me!" King Albert's voice roared through the throne room. "Guards! Take her to the dungeons! She'll be beheaded tomorrow at sunrise!" The throne room went so silent that you can hear the magic in the air.
"But father, she didn't do anything wrong," Princess Sunervia murmured so softly but King Albert heard it. "What did you say, Unnervia?" King Albert asked in an eerily calm tone. "My name is Sunny, father," Sunervia said, her voice louder this time for everyone to hear.
"Is that backtalk, Unnervia?" King Albert's eyes narrow dangerously thin. "Yes, in fact, it is!" Sunny snaps, standing up tall. Her golden yellow eyes shining with defiance. Her long yellow hair tied perfectly in a bun, probably from a maid.
Ok now I really don't like this king. First, he is rude to his wife, next he tries to kill Cora and now making fun of his daughter's name? I need to help her! Violet thought.
King Albert stands up sharply, sword in hand. "Do you need to get punished, girl?" King Albert asks. "No, father," Sunny says with her head down. Violet can't take it anymore. "Why are you treating your daughter like that? She has a point!" Violet calls out. "The only one who should be punished is you, King Albert. That stupidity is truly a crime!" Coraline snaps.
"That's it!" King Albert says, "Guards! Bring them to the dungeons! They will be beheaded at sunrise!" His tone leaves no room for arguing. The guards nod and drag the girls to the dungeons, their scepters being locked up in an unmarked location.
