Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Stealing Kills From Iron Man

[Afganistan, Kunar]

Corin, dressed in a crimson suit and silver mask, almost cursed out loud when he saw the scene in front of him.

After arriving at the airport, he had changed clothes, then followed the direction Alyssa gave him, throwing out throwing knives and flying all the way.

He finally reached a small terrorist stronghold.

He never expected that when he arrived, smoke was already hanging in the air and bodies were scattered on the ground here and there. Someone had cleared the place ahead of him.

"Crap! I came all this way, don't tell me I rushed here for nothing."

Corin thought gloomily. He had tossed Alyssa 200,000 before leaving just to get her to give him remote support. If he could not even earn back the principal, then he had really lost big.

Suddenly, he heard an explosion in the distance.

He looked toward the sound, and with his super strong vision, the situation on the plains more than ten kilometers away zoomed in fast.

"So it's you, kid!"

Realization dawned on him. Corin saw a figure shining with metallic light wreaking havoc in the distance. It was Iron Man.

"The mech suit was developed this fast?"

Watching Tony Stark in his red and gold Iron Man armor mowing down enemies at another terrorist stronghold, Corin quickly flicked out a handful of throwing knives. Pulled along by a special rope, he turned into a streak of light and flew over.

"Hey~ Tony! Leave some for me!"

———

One day earlier, at a business cocktail party.

Stark Industries was caught in a scandal.

The reason was that Tony Stark had made a big show at the previous press conference, announcing that Stark Industries would shut down all weapons research and sales.

But Stark weapons had appeared in the rioting Kunar.

Reports about Kunar were overwhelming.

People were forced by the warlord to flee their homes. Refugees were displaced and had no choice but to live in the ruins of other villages.

A woman holding a photo of her husband looked completely hopeless.

Her husband had been kidnapped by the warlord. Maybe he had been forced to join their army, or maybe he was already dead.

There were many others who had lost family. Holding yellowed photos, they anxiously asked passersby for news.

A little boy with a face full of dust asked in confusion, "Where are my mom and dad?"

People's hope of survival was slim. All they could do was daydream that someone might come save them.

And the culprits were a foreign warlord force. The locals called them the Freedom Fighters. These people were fully armed and had clear goals. Anyone who dared to stand in their way was doomed.

Because they had powerful weapons, made by Stark.

Tony stared at the photos handed to him by the female reporter, Christine Elliott. In them were scenes of Stark weapons everywhere.

There was even a close-up of a Jericho missile.

Facing the questioning of this woman who had once shared a bed with him, "You still dare to show up here so brazenly. This is the 'responsibility' you were talking about?"

Tony also could not believe what he was seeing. He had been focused on developing the armor lately and knew nothing about what was happening in the outside world.

He had indeed given the order for the company to stop producing and selling weapons.

But the evidence in front of him was undeniable.

Clearly there was someone inside the company openly going against his orders.

Even so, Tony still had to explain, even if it sounded very weak, "I didn't authorize this…"

"Just because you didn't authorize it doesn't mean your company didn't."

Angry and upset, Tony took the photos and went to question Obadiah on the other side of the party, only to get some fake concern in return, "Tony, you're too naive… Who do you think had you kicked out?"

"It was me."

"Only this way can I protect you…"

———

When Tony got home, he expressionlessly performed the final tests on the armor's arm weapon systems.

The TV was broadcasting the horrors of Kunar, and the flames in Tony's heart burned higher and higher, until the weapon systems finished testing and showed everything was normal.

Tony could no longer hold back the anger in his heart. Stepping on the mech base, the high-tech armor quickly wrapped around his body.

Tony would not allow Stark Industries to become an accomplice in bloody colonization.

Flames blasted from his hands and feet as Tony flew overnight to Kunar.

Iron Man, Tony Stark's first active strike, had begun.

———

In the air, just as Corin was approaching the stronghold and before he even landed, he flung out more than ten throwing knives at the densest cluster of terrorists.

Eight-tenths power.

The throwing knives were like missiles, tearing through the sound barrier and slamming into the terrorist stronghold.

A combat squad of more than ten people was turned into scattered limbs under the unreasonable strike of the throwing knives.

There were no fancy explosions. In the flashes of cold light, the bodies of this group of bandits who called themselves Freedom Fighters were cleanly shredded.

[Killed Freedom Fighter wanted thug, bounty +10,000 dollars]

[Killed Freedom Fighter wanted bandit, bounty +8,000 dollars]

[Killed Freedom Fighter wanted thug, bounty +10,000 dollars]

[Killed...]

As the system notifications rang in his head, Corin's eyes lit up, "Knew it would work!"

At the same time, his hands did not stop. Playing cards scattered out like they did not cost anything.

That was right, using throwing knives to kill these ordinary people who only knew how to abuse weapons and violence was simply a waste.

Luckily, Corin had brought enough playing cards. Plenty to use, enough to fill you up.

He mercilessly harvested the lives of the rioting warlords on a large scale.

———

On the other side of the battlefield, Stark quickly locked on to this uninvited guest through JARVIS's display screen.

His pupils shrank, 'It is him.'

"That bounty hunter again!"

The reactor in Tony's chest shuddered reflexively as he watched the playing cards ruthlessly mow down the bandits.

That familiar flavor, that familiar feeling…

"Holy shit! This guy isn't here to kill me again, is he?"

A chill rose in Tony's heart, but he was not too worried.

Experience told him that although this bounty hunter in front of him was insanely strong, he was still reasonable.

'Mm…'

'At least when it comes to money, he is a gentleman.'

Distracted by Corin's intrusion, Tony's thoughts wandered and his hands slowed down a beat.

Just then, a tank fired a shell at him. Lost in thought, Tony ignored JARVIS's warning.

Clang~

BOOM!

The explosion kicked up a massive cloud of yellow sand and smoke. Only then did Tony realize that JARVIS's alert had disappeared in front of him.

"Hey!~ Tony~ what a coincidence! Long time no see."

Corin landed next to Iron Man, and his polite voice sounded in Tony's ear.

Thanks to his constant attempts while traveling, Corin could now change direction midair while flying.

There was nothing technical about it. He just had to throw another knife.

With his current strength, Corin could do that easily.

Through JARVIS's replay, Tony saw that at the moment of landing, this bounty hunter had thrown out a throwing knife.

The scary thing was, after this knife shattered the shell aimed at him in midair, it did not slow down at all and went on to punch a big hole straight through the tank farther away.

Even without watching the replay, Tony could now clearly see the scenery on the other side of the tank from the front of it.

"wht the f… Is this something a human can do? He seems even stronger than last time."

Hearing Corin greet him, Tony, being a man of the world, answered:

"Hey~ bounty hunter~"

"Oh no, I should call you Mr. Crimson Silver Duke."

"Long time no see~"

"Thanks for just now~"

"Are you here to kill me again this time?"

As an AI, JARVIS still was not smart enough.

It could not understand why Mr. Stark would ask such a question that went so against common sense, and even say it in such a friendly tone.

Corin had not expected Tony to actually know that super cringe nickname of his.

The corner of his mouth twitched, then he smiled slightly, "Dear Employer, don't worry. I'm surprised too, but running into you this time is purely a coincidence."

"Considering the 50 million, I haven't taken a job to kill you yet."

Tony froze for a moment, and the stone in his heart temporarily settled.

He clenched his back teeth, 'The way this guy talks… is really infuriating.'

But what could he do? The man had the strength to back it up.

Thinking, as long as he is not here to kill me, it's fine, Tony's curiosity was piqued, "Then what are you here for? A new commission?"

Corin shook his head, "I just don't like looking at these guys."

"Let's make a deal. Leave all of them to me. You just rest on the side."

Tony was instantly unhappy. The anger boiling in his gut still had not gone down, and this guy was telling him to stop? No way!

"That depends on whose hands move faster…"

Before he finished speaking, Iron Man suddenly took off and shot toward the warlord stronghold.
