Again, a deep silence fell over the room.
They could hear the bats chirping and even the sound of dew falling on the trees.
After a while, Feriha spoke, breaking the silence. 🔊
"Why did you take so long to tell me these things?" Feriha asked in a troubled voice.
"I'm sorry, I waited until the best time for it. I was afraid you would act impulsively if you found out about this," Ravihan said.
"How did my sister get to Selene then? Tell me the rest of the story," Feriha said. 🤔
Ravihan's voice hardened.
"circles gang Keepers were inside the house before we arrived.
One of them was Selene ,fourteen at the time."
Feriha gasped.
"She… she was just a child too?" 😯
"Yes," Ravihan nodded.
"Trained. Controlled. Dangerous."
His eyes narrowed.
"I saw her for only a moment;
a thin girl with a blank face, holding your little sister in her arms."
He paused.
"The child wasn't crying.
Selin had already whispered something to calm her." 🙃
Feriha covered her mouth, tears rising.
Ravihan continued, voice trembling: 😐
"Selene looked at me… and then ran into the darkness with your sister.
I chased them.
I screamed. 😣
But they vanished into a black van without leaving a trace."
"I carried you outside," he said softly.
"You were barely breathing. I wrapped you in my jacket and held you until help came."
A small smile touched his lips. 🙂
"You wouldn't let go of my hand.
Even unconscious… you trusted me."
He exhaled deeply.
"That night, I saved you…
but I failed to save her." 😌
Ravihan looked at both of them with painful honesty.
"You need to know this because the past is repeating.
Selin didn't take your sister by accident.
She took her because circles gang marked your family long before that night." 🏙
He stepped closer.
"And your sister…"
his voice softened, almost a whisper,
"…she is alive, Feriha. I am certain of it." 💯
