Chapter 24 - Day 8 of the Battle

Day 8 of the Battle

After sleeping a bit late, they all were up and ready for the meeting in the palace boardroom with the PM and some attending ministers at 11am. As Max was not allowed to attend, a Zoom session was set up for him to attend digitally.

Nearly 2-hours of debate, the 2-week lockdown document was finalized and everyone was in agreeance. Carolyn then ordered it to be released to the public and news media immediately.

Carolyn was glad that 90% of what she, or rather mostly Max's advice and suggestions, with her changes, were accepted. She walked out of the meeting feeling happier. But a new storm was just starting to brew.

The people of Denmark took the new order better than she thought, according to reports, and as of Wednesday at 6pm, the whole country was in total lockdown.

Now the waiting period began to see what impact this lockdown was on the country and its economy.

In the meantime, the Prime Minister with his wife, and with several essential cabinet ministers and their families, took up the offer to temporarily move into one palace while Amalienborg was completely locked down.

While the troops and defence forces started to patrol the country, all borders were completely locked down. With no schools open, several of the schools' halls were claimed in case of quarantine needs.

Now the waiting game has started. In some towns, people protested and got arrested, many registered for food and many homeless were sheltered.
