Chapter 9 - Chapter 9 — The Obsidian Tower Completed

I spent the next year perfecting the Obsidian Tower, turning it from a mere structure into a living extension of my power. Every brick, every stone, every spiral of the spire was inscribed with spells. Not just any spells, but hundreds of thousands of layered enchantments, each one carefully chosen for a specific purpose.

Defensive spells ran like veins through the walls, protecting against physical attacks, magical intrusion, and even dimensional interference. Weakening spells were embedded to drain the strength of intruders, while buffing spells ensured that anyone aligned with the tower—or myself—would be amplified beyond normal limits.

The most dangerous feature of all was the tower's inherent influence over power. When I stood inside, my own abilities surged by 120%, and anyone not linked to the tower suffered a 90% reduction in power. A single battle within its walls would be completely lopsided in my favor, giving me an overwhelming advantage against even the strongest opponents.

I layered utility spells as well: a climate control spell maintained a neutral temperature, no matter how bitterly cold or scorching the outside world became. A self-cleaning enchantment ensured that the tower remained pristine without effort. Defensive enchantments intertwined so intricately that destroying the tower would be nearly impossible.

And the beauty of it was that the tower was not static. As I continued to grow and learn, I could add more spells, enhance existing ones, and even restructure the tower itself magically, making it evolve alongside me.

Every day of that year, I moved from room to room, inscribing and layering spells, testing wards, summoning minor guardian spirits to monitor and reinforce the magic. By the time the year ended, the Obsidian Tower was more than a home—it was a fortress, a library, a laboratory, and a weapon all in one, a monument to my power and my presence in this world.

The Witch of the Obsidian Tower now had her domain, and it was untouchable, even to the most formidable entities of the era.
