Synopsis
In a dystopian future where society grows closer yet also forces others down pushing them further there's a small group of people that are against those rules. The technology in this world is advanced, but only for those who can afford it. This is where the disbalance grew tremendously, those who couldn't afford the newest things started to get pushed down while the others pulled themselves up. This means that there's a huge ravine between the people who plead to survive and those who live lavishly with their never-ending expenses. The thing is, those who've been pushed down have come up with their own way to go about things by figuring out how to splice and change DNA, giving them their own little space among society where they could strive.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Introduction

A static sound came from the other room as she sluggishly rolled out of bed and plopped on the ground, slowly standing up while stretching letting out a tired moan. She kicked her feet into her slippers as she opened the drawer on her nightstand grabbing her underwear and putting it on while walking to the bathroom.

She leaned on the sink, looking at herself in the mirror. Her black hair tattered at the tips, some knots scattered all over her hair. Her green eyes filled with life, yet somehow also lacking it when she looked down. Her ears being replaced by holes on the side of her head, some decently long and mildly thick spikes around the holes.

The reason for her ears being like that due to her mother having replaced some of her own DNA with the DNA of a bearded dragon this gene carrying on into her daughter.

After she finished washing her face and brushing her teeth, she walked back into her room and pulled out some transparent clothes out from underneath her bed. These were the only clothes she could afford as the plastic that the people who lived lavished lives threw away, was picked up by people like her and turned into clothes. The clothes were completely oversized on her though, as she sucked at measurements.

She then grabbed an extremely tattered trash bag that was outstretched and had holes in multiple areas, putting it into cuts she made in her plastic jorts and all around her waist before tying it at the front. Careful to not rip or stretch it more as she did.

She quickly grabbed some bones from the sink and sucked on them, trying to eat the remaining chicken flavor on them before walking out of her front door. Her nose was instantly hit by multiple stenches and dust, causing her to sneeze and shiver. She coughed a bit and kept walking, not being able to waste any time as she needed to get to work on time. A shiver again running down her spine as she thought of what happened the last time her boss found out about her being late.

She walked through the dirty and dusty roads, the street markets seeming ever so louder than the previous day as the ever-growing conflict got worse day by day. She somehow managed to always zone it out though, whether it was because she simply didn't care about the Nepo babies or because she didn't feel like getting political, she didn't know. All she knew was that the pyramid scheme known as a civilization was falling apart around her. While she heard the muffled tones around her, she couldn't help but wonder if this was happening all over the world.

Her eyes widened as she wobbled a bit towards her left, feeling someone yank on her arm. Then a voice that seemed to be trying to sound charismatic said, "Hey there tuta. What'dya think of doing things in that alley over there?"

She stared at him with a tut. Then rolled her eyes as she said, "Well, taking a good glance at you..." She tutted again, "You don't seem half bad. But why the alley? Considering how screwed up society is, I feel as though it's better to do it right here." She said as she leaned in, placing her hands on his shoulders.

He stumbled over his words, then slowly leaned in too putting his hands on her hips. Right before the kiss, she suddenly shot blood out of her eyes on his face and kicked him in the gut hard, using the force she kicked him with to stumble a couple feet back. She quickly rubbed her eyes with her hands and looked at him as he panicked trying to completely take the blood off of his face. Some of it had gotten in his eyes too as he tried to stop seeing things in red.

A loud laugh came from behind her as someone held her shoulder, "Good one Clipse." A friendly female voice said. "You somehow always manage to amuse me with the ways you bait out those weirdos."

Clipse rolled her eyes, "Yeah, yeah whatever. Not so fun after your vision literally turns red because you can't clean your eyes. Luckily this time I didn't have to use my spine."

The girl then walked around her, she had caramel and blue eyes. Her hair up in a ponytail as she wore an average black and white business suit, an ID card on the suits breast pocket that showed a picture of her, the company she worked for and her name 'Amy.' "Well, let me drive you to work. It'll get us both out of trouble with creeps like him."

Clipse shook her head, "Sorry can't pay." Then suddenly Amy grabbed her and threw her into the back of a limo that was camouflaged behind them. She blinked a couple of times as Amy got into the limo with her and closed the door.

"Sorry, but I'm not taking no for an answer. After all we're almost late to work," Amy said showing her golden watch with Roman numerals on it.

Clipse nodded as she sighed and looked out of the window. Amy was her rich friend that tried to take care of her because she knew Clipse was an orphan. What Amy didn't know is that her coworkers would likely either pester, abuse her or much worse for hanging out with Amy.

She thought about what would happen this time as Amy held a cotton ball with tweecers in one hand, her other hand gently cupping Clipse's right cheek, some tear drops resting on her lap. She gently tapped the cotton ball into Clipse's right eye, as she moved the hand that was holding her face to hold her eyelids open. Clipse squirmed a little, but bionic arms quickly came out of the seat and held her in place.

"Why are there bionic arms in your car seat?" Clipse said as she kept on trying to blink, her left eye winking as Amy made sure to not let her right eyelid close in the slightest.

Amy blushed at Clipse's question then cleared her throat as she threw her hands back and applied the tear drops into Clipse's right eye. "That's not something I'd like to talk about right now. Especially with you."

Clipse raised an eyebrow as Amy went to her left eye, "Is it because you kill people in this limo? Or is it because you have a lot of-" Amy shushed her, "Nope. I'm not going to talk to you about what happens in my car ya' Skel."

Clipse snickered, "Skel? C'mon mami I know you don't mean that." She said as Amy finished cleaning her left eye and applied tear drops to it.

"Yeah, you're right... still though, you can't deny you're a Skel," Amy said with a smirk.

Clipse rolled her eyes as the limo stopped, "And if I do deny it?"

Amy chuckled as they stepped out and walked up some stairs, "Then you'll have to move in with me and life lavishly."

Clipse rolled her eyes, "You know I can't do that. You already do enough for me, I don't need you to provide me with housing. Trust me my financial situation is fine." Amy rolled her eyes and pinched Clipse's clothes with an eyebrow raised. "They're comfortable, okay?"

"Whatever you say. Just know I'm always here for you mami. Call for me whenever," Amy said as she stepped into the elevator. Waving bye as Clipse worked on the first floor and Amy worked on the 6th floor.

Clipse sighed, her personality and expression quickly changing back to seemingly emotionless as she walked through the door furthest down. When she went through, she was met with a small dark room with a bunch of monitors around them. The only desk that didn't have a computer being the one in the middle, with someone sitting in a turned around chair behind the desk as if this was a movie.

Clipse sighed, "What's the gig this time? How much salt you gon' give me?"
