Chapter 1 - Sneack Attack X Fight Intruder

"Alex," the recently adult girl waved to the young boy, pointing to the shogi board on the table. Alex Faust, dressed in a small suit, ignored her, sitting on the ground with his back against the door.

He was observing all movements around the room, executing his mission. Today was his last mission. Alex ignored Helen's sudden interest; he had grown accustomed to Helen's erratic behavior over the past year and knew he just needed to ignore her.

The last night was very important. As a big shot in the underworld, the head of the Cattelo Family, Roy Cattelo had countless enemies, all of whom wanted him dead.

This included many old rivals of the Cattelo Family. No one had dared to make a move before, so tonight was their last chance. Otherwise, once Roy Cattelo returned to his territory, no one would risk acting again.

Alex didn't understand why the employer insisted on delaying until today; the transaction was clearly complete, but he was the boss.

Alex and a team of bodyguards were solely responsible for protecting the employer's daughter, Helen.

Seeing that Alex ignored her, Helen could only give up, huffing like a little girl in anger for a while before throwing a pillow at Alex .

A year ago, her father brought this boy home. She was immediately taken with the 10-year-old boy; a cool, young boy was too lethal for a girl like her.

Although he often wore a poker face and sometimes said things that would make people half-dead with anger, Alex's strength was undeniable.

Over the past year, she had experienced several assassination attempts. If it weren't for Alex, she might have died in one of those attempts long ago.

Alex frowned, ignoring her little tantrum. He would complete his mission tonight, and then he could leave.

A place where he could no longer improve his strength was not worth staying. Alex planned to visit Heavens Arena. He heard there were martial artists from all over the world there, and perhaps he could make a Breakthrough there.

Late at night, Alex awoke from meditation. A sense of danger emanated; an enemy attack!

The sound of gunfire erupted downstairs. He went to Helen's bedside and motioned for her to follow him.

The room they had just left exploded violently, with flames spreading from behind them. If they had been any slower, the two of them would have experienced the power of a specially made rocket launcher.

Fortunately, this underworld princess had similar experiences before and didn't panic or run around, but instead followed Alex closely.

He pushed open the temporary secret compartment dug into the stairwell.

"Get in. Do not come out until I come back for you."

Helen looked at the young boy's expressionless instructions, then nodded to show she understood.

"Be careful!"

Alex walked directly towards the stairwell. The battle on the first floor was still ongoing. He lightened his footsteps.

Peeking out, he saw a shadow at the stairwell. No guards were stationed there, so it could only be an enemy.

Alex drew the pistol from his lower back and shot the exposed head, blowing it apart. There was no one else in the stairwell. He avoided the still-wet liquid. He remembered that turning right at the stairwell led to the bartending counter.

With a side roll, he ducked behind the counter. Bullets immediately followed, striking the wooden counter violently. Wood splinters flew from the bullets. Fortunately, the counter was sturdy enough.

"Enemies inside the building have been cleared. There are still enemies at the side door. We'll help you draw their frontal fire."

Bad news came through the earpiece. A blatant attack, likely from an opponent pushed to the brink.

Using his teammates to draw fire, he casually picked up a handful of custom thumbtacks he had placed in the counter beforehand.

Alex moved through the shadows to the side door. When he moved in here, he had already surveyed the terrain. The reason he didn't stay in a hotel was out of fear that the terrain would become familiar to enemies.

He leaped out of the small window, rolled upon landing, and saw several figures with their backs to him. The thumbtacks in his hand were thrown like a shotgun blast.

The enemies who turned their heads didn't have time to shoot before being riddled with the incoming projectiles. Blood splattered.

The two machine guns at the main entrance turned, firing with sparks flying. They could vaguely see that only a pile of shattered limbs remained where they had been.

The enemies realized the terrain was unfavorable and the mission difficulty was not as estimated. They quickly retreated with heavy weapons. The bodyguards chased after them; this was their chance to earn merit.

Alex took a deep breath to maintain calm judgment and did not follow, but continued to guard the first-floor stairwell, in case it was a diversion.

Soon, good news came through the earpiece.

"Intruders cleared."

"Ah…!"

A scream immediately followed through the earpiece, and then no further messages were received.

Alex's intuition screamed at him that danger was coming. He immediately became alert, sensing a strong aura of danger approaching him.

Thump, thump, thump… footsteps came from the main entrance.

"Bang, bang, bang…" Alex directly emptied all his pistol magazines in the direction of the footsteps.

At the same time, one hand quietly reached into a pocket on his body. The bullets fired from the pistol did not stop the approaching footsteps at all. The approaching footsteps sounded like the arrival of Death.

As the footsteps drew closer, the person also came into his sight.

A black man with a pointed nose, holding a fist in one hand, wore an immaculate white suit. The only thing that showed he was different from ordinary people was the oppressive feeling emanating from him. He opened his fist.

"Clink…" A pile of bullets fell from his palm to the ground, but his hand showed no signs of injury.

"A defense line? A child? You don't use Nen. Were those thumbtacks at the side door your little trick?" He asked, as if inquiring.

Cold sweat trickled down Alex's forehead. It seemed he was in for a tough fight.

He was a Nen User.

"Not speaking? It doesn't matter. I just need to kill you and then check."

The Nen User said chilling words with a smile, walking with his hands spread.

Like a stroll, he was almost in front of Alex, as if looking down at an ant. This gaze made Alex furious.

How arrogant. Alex was not the harmless lamb he perceived.

Striking first, Alex didn't hesitate, throwing a small dagger hidden in his sleeve at him.

Closing in quickly, Alex knew he could injure these Nen Users in close combat.

The Nen User casually made a flicking motion, and the dagger was instantly shattered. Then he aimed at Alex.

A fatal sense of crisis struck. Alex decisively abandoned this attack, sharply tilting his body. An invisible Nen Bullet passed by him.

He couldn't wait any longer. Alex knew the gap between himself and a Nen User. He closed the distance in two steps.

The Nen User saw through the boy's intention, thinking that close combat would allow him to win?

A smile curled on the Nen User's lips, and at the same time, he kicked at the boy.

Contrary to expectations, it was the Nen User's smile that froze, and then he was kicked away by the force transmitted.

Alex didn't pursue but quickly retreated a few steps. The floor where he had stood was now a palm-sized crater from a Nen Bullet.

"I really underestimated you."

When he stood up again, his right leg was limping, and his face wore a grim expression.

The Nen User's right leg, wrapped in Nen, was actually broken. He could confirm that the opponent did not use Nen. If he underestimated him again, he might end up dying here.

Alex quickly dodged the invisible bullets by instinct, then crouched and moved forward.

The Nen User's Nen Bullet was easily dodged. The pain from his right foot interfered with his thoughts. He had wanted to maintain distance, but it was too late.

Since that was the case, he wouldn't dodge. The Nen-wrapped fist, like a cannonball, carried a wind pressure that gave Alex a fatal sensation even before it was thrown.

"Watch my ultimate move!"

Alex's lips curved into an arc. He had found his chance. The fist he had kept clenched suddenly swing, and white powder filled the air. At the same time, he flexibly dodged the punch.

The Nen User hadn't encountered such a tactic in a long time. Instinctively, he used Nen to block the incoming white powder, but even so, his vision was completely white.

"Lime powder? You damned brat…"

Alex seized the opportunity to Breakthrough the white powder from the left, aiming for the undefended neck. He swung his hand like a blade with all his might. This unexpected attack completely caught the Nen User off guard. The next moment, the concentrated Nen around his neck was torn apart like thin paper by the immense force.

His body fell to the ground, twitching, unable to utter the curses caught in his throat.

The Nen User unwillingly lost his last breath. He never thought that he, a Nen User, would fall to an ordinary person, perhaps the only one.

The outcome was decided in just a few brief exchanges.

With a cold face, he pulled his dislocated hand bone back into place, shook his hand, and brushed off the lime powder left on it. Fortunately, no accidents occurred.

This was not the first time he had encountered so-called Nen Users, and he had a certain understanding of them.

Alex's special ability could Break through the defenses of Nen Users.

His body, having absorbed those black Aura ( dark nature, powerful negative emotion of life energy which is officially called Nen within the series. ) since childhood, had strengthened his destructive power to a terrifying degree.

His destructive power was even stronger than a rocket launcher, and it greatly countered the Nen of Nen Users. Coupled with some minor tricks, it was a decisive trump card.

Black Aura, visible only to him, emanated from the deceased Nen User. The moment it appeared, Alex reached out and absorbed it.

His internal power ( Aura Capacity ) increased from 15 to 16. His intuition told him that the black energy could no longer provide him with further enhancement. The number was Alex's estimated combat power based on the increase in his strength. In terms of physical strength, a single hand was already close to 2 tons.

After checking and confirming that there were no more intruders or surviving bodyguards, Alex called his employer.

"All intruders have been dealt with. No bodyguards survived. The intelligence said the other side didn't have Nen Users… I must…"
