Allyson's POV
Kenneth's voice dropped to barely above a whisper, as if the words themselves were too shameful to speak aloud. "There was this one evening when I asked Snow to join me for dinner. I never expected her to say yes."
He paused, his fingers drumming nervously against the table surface. "That's when she opened up about her husband's financial troubles. He was trying to launch his own business, but they were drowning in debt."
The name Snow stirred something in my memory, though I couldn't quite place where I'd heard it before. "What happened next?"
Kenneth's hands trembled slightly as he interlaced his fingers. "I realized I could use her desperation to my advantage." His voice cracked with the admission. "I made her an offer—sleep with me, and I'd clear her husband's debts. To my shock, she didn't even hesitate."
A wave of nausea rolled through me. "She just accepted?"
