Allyson's POV
Walking into the upscale restaurant lobby, I spotted Kenneth immediately. He stood near the entrance wearing a perfectly tailored black suit that probably cost more than my monthly salary. His dark hair was perfectly styled, not a strand out of place.
The moment our eyes connected, his entire face transformed. A genuine smile spread across his features, warm and inviting in a way that caught me completely off guard. I hadn't expected such an enthusiastic reaction.
I moved toward him with measured steps, acutely aware of his intense gaze following my every movement. The attention made my skin tingle with self-consciousness, despite the care I had taken getting ready tonight. My ocean-blue dress fit like it was made for me, hugging every curve perfectly.
I had swept my hair into an elegant updo with loose curls framing my face. I knew I looked good, but the way Kenneth stared at me made me question everything about my appearance.
