Allyson's POV

The door to my apartment slammed behind me as I stormed inside, my entire body trembling with fury. Michael had crossed every possible line today. I desperately wanted to despise him, to write him off as nothing more than an arrogant obstacle in my path.

Yet the truth clawed at my insides like a wild animal.

I craved him with an intensity that terrified me.

No amount of reasoning could extinguish this fire burning within me. I ached for him.

My fingertips brushed against my mouth where his lips had claimed mine, and I clutched his torn shirt against my chest, drowning in the intoxicating scent that clung to the fabric. Every nerve ending still buzzed from his touch.

I pressed my palm flat against my racing heart, fighting to regain some semblance of composure.

"Pull yourself together," I whispered harshly to my reflection.
