Allyson's POV
My hand shot to my chest as my heart hammered against my ribs. "You nearly gave me a heart attack!"
My legs wobbled, but his strong arms caught me before I could stumble.
"I knocked on the door twice," he said, his tone steady. "You must not have heard me over the water."
He offered me a towel, still warm and soft. I grabbed it quickly, pressing it against my wet skin.
"You have no business being in here," I protested, though my voice lacked real conviction as I wrapped the towel tighter around myself.
His mouth tilted upward. "I keep trying to figure out when you look most stunning," he said, moving closer, his eyes dark with desire. "When you're sleeping peacefully? When you're furious with me... or when you're in the pool showing Reagan who's boss?"
His gaze traveled slowly down my form.
"Maybe it's when you're crying out my name just before you fall apart... or right now, stepping out of that shower looking like a goddess?"
