Allyson's POV
I let my eyelids drift shut, allowing Michael's words to envelope me like a gentle embrace. His love surrounded me, soothing every trace of uncertainty that still lingered in my heart.
When I looked at him again, my expression was tender and sure.
"Then let it go."
His eyebrows drew together in confusion. "What do you mean?"
"Release the anger toward Snow. Not because she deserves it, but because we deserve peace. Let go of the resentment, Michael. The hurt you've been holding onto for so long."
My palm pressed against his chest, feeling the steady rhythm beneath. "It's only holding you back. And now you have me."
Michael remained silent, his eyes searching my face as if memorizing every detail. Gradually, the tension in his posture melted away, and he released a long breath.
"You're something else, you know that?"
My lips curved upward. "I just want us to find peace," I said simply. "Both of us."
