Michael's gaze burned into me with an intensity that made my breath catch. "Are you certain about this?" His voice carried a weight that demanded honesty. Those piercing eyes seemed to see straight through any facade I might try to put up, searching for even the smallest hint of hesitation.
I watched the internal battle play out across his features. The gentleman in him wanted to protect me from making a mistake, but the raw hunger in his expression told a different story entirely.
"I have never been more certain of anything in my life," I breathed, my voice barely above a whisper as his touch sent waves of heat coursing through my veins.
That confession shattered whatever restraint he'd been clinging to. His mouth claimed mine with a ferocity that left me dizzy, every other thought evaporating from my mind. The kiss was demanding, consuming, and I found myself melting against him as my fingers dug into the solid muscle of his shoulders.
