Chapter 6 - The Last Meal Before Challenging Kaido!

Chapter 6 – The Last Meal Before Challenging Kaido!

Akira stood frozen in place, his eyes wide open.

He stared at the woman lying on the bed—her face filled with conviction, as if she had just made a declaration to the entire world.

"Even... my own body!"

The words echoed through the silent infirmary, lingering in the air like a forbidden spell.

For a moment, his mind went completely blank.

His first reaction was pure disbelief.

"Hold back Kaido?"

"For an hour?!"

His instincts screamed at him to refuse.

"Have you completely lost your mind after getting beaten by your father?"

To hold Kaido back for a full hour...

That was no different from suicide.

This was Kaido, the strongest creature alive!

However—

Just as the words "impossible" were about to leave his mouth,

Akira's thoughts suddenly stopped.

"No... wait a second."

"Right now... maybe I can actually do it."

"Quadruple Critical, combined with Manifestation Technique, and layered boosts from Armor of Will…"

His heart pounded wildly, refusing to calm down.

The idea that had been swirling in his head finally erupted.

"I was just thinking about finding someone to test my power on... why not Kaido himself?"

Akira's eyes sharpened.

[100% Critical]

[Double Strike]

Combined, they gave him a total of fourfold physical attack power.

That energy now surged through his veins, every muscle burning hot as if his entire body had caught fire.

Just a few minutes ago, he had been frustrated, restless—unsure where to channel this overwhelming strength.

He had even thought about punching through a wall or sneaking out in the middle of the night to beat up some poor Sea King.

But now, Yamato had given him an idea.

A crazy one.

But also... a perfect one.

"Fight Kaido, huh?"

Akira's breathing quickened slightly.

Across this entire sea, was there anyone better than Kaido to be his test subject?

Anyone more fitting as a sparring partner to activate his stacking passives?

[Armor of Will]

Every ten seconds in battle, his power increased by one layer.

And if he broke through his limit, he could permanently raise his own physical threshold by 1%!

Each fight also strengthened the Manifestation Technique, which had no upper limit.

Before, Akira wouldn't have dared to even imagine fighting Kaido.

But now—

With Quadruple Strike and Manifestation Technique combined...

That meant eightfold attack power!

"One hour…"

Akira licked his dry lips.

"Maybe… I can try."

"Even if I lose, I can still stack plenty of Armor of Will layers—that alone would be worth it!"

"The only problem is… I don't know if eightfold damage is enough to pierce Kaido's dragon scales."

Once that thought appeared, it spread like wildfire through his mind—unstoppable.

His brain began spinning at lightning speed.

Now, he wasn't just thinking about testing his power.

He was building a plan—one that could solve everything at once.

'If I pretend to ask Kaido for training, I can keep him busy for an hour, giving Yamato time to escape…'

'And then—'

Akira's eyes gleamed sharply.

'After that!'

'I'll play the role of the panicked husband!'

'I'll storm up to Kaido and shout—'

"Father-in-law! This is bad! Yamato ran away!"

"She rejected the marriage and fled!"

"As her fiancé, I'll chase her down myself! I'll go out to sea and bring her back to give you grandchildren!"

Akira pictured the entire scenario perfectly in his head.

He had been trapped in Wano for far too long.

That bastard Kaido kept claiming to "value his talents"—but in truth, he only exploited Akira's managerial and logistical skills.

For the past eighteen years, Akira had single-handedly rebuilt the Beast Pirates' entire logistics system—

managing Onigashima's finances, weapons, food supplies, and war resources.

And how did Kaido treat him?

Like a housekeeper.

Every mission—raids, territory expansions, even simple patrols—

was always given to the Three Calamities above him!

As the Fourth Commander, Akira was almost never allowed to leave the island.

He wasn't even authorized to eliminate potential threats like the "Straw Hat" boy.

Kaido never intended to let him leave Onigashima.

But now—

this was his chance.

'Yamato ran away from her wedding.'

'The groom goes after his runaway bride.'

It was the perfect, foolproof excuse!

The best possible reason to legally leave Wano!

'To go out and see the outside world…'

Akira's ambition burned brighter than ever.

Especially since his greedy Pay-to-Win System demanded more and more money—

he knew he'd soon run out of funds for gacha draws.

'Right now, I only have 2.7 billion Berries left,' he thought.

'Each draw costs 100 million...'

'That's only 27 pulls!'

'That's not enough.'

'Not even close.'

'If I can get out of here…'

'The entire world will become my personal ATM!'

'The money in Onigashima is nothing compared to what's out there!'

Akira's gaze seemed to pierce through the island's ceiling.

He imagined Skypiea—the golden city still untouched by explorers.

He imagined world banks overflowing with treasure.

He even thought of the Celestial Dragons' merchant ships, loaded with "Heavenly Tribute!"

All of them would be his.

He would seize everything—for one purpose only.

"To Top Up!"

His system was a bottomless pit.

He stared at the number in his interface: 2.7 billion Berries.

'Not enough… I need hundreds of billions!'

'Trillions!'

Then—

'I'll Top Up!'

'I'll Draw!'

'I'll level up beyond reason!'

Layer upon layer of Armor of Will would stack infinitely.

The Divine Manifestation Technique would evolve endlessly.

Two years from now—

Forget Straw Hat Luffy.

Even Imu-sama himself might not be able to defeat him!

The plan was flawless.

Perfect and dangerous.

Akira's expression shifted—confusion, realization, and finally… something Yamato couldn't understand.

A smile of admiration.

And strangely, a hint of pity.

'Yamato… you really are a genius,' Akira thought with genuine awe.

'And you don't even realize—you just handed me the key to my prison.'

He looked deeply at her.

Then, he deliberately put on a face that seemed heavy and conflicted.

As if weighing the most dangerous decision of his life.

Seconds passed.

Then he exhaled—and nodded slowly, as if reluctantly.

"Alright."

Akira's voice was hoarse, but firm.

"I'll hold Kaido off for an hour."

"You use that time to escape."

"By the way…"

"Have you prepared a ship at the harbor?"

"???"

Yamato froze on the spot.

Her blue eyes widened in disbelief.

She had braced herself for rejection—cold and cruel.

But this man…

had agreed instantly?!

'Is my body really that tempting?'

'Has he been holding back this whole time?'

'How tragic… well, at least before he dies by Father's hand, I can make him happy for a moment.'

'Besides, I'm technically a man anyway, so this isn't really a loss!'

Akira looked at Yamato's shocked but oddly joyful face and almost burst out laughing.

'What a foolish girl,' he thought.

'You're the one offering yourself. Am I supposed to refuse?'

Outwardly, however, he kept a serious and noble expression.

"I already said it—I agree."

He repeated calmly.

"Whaaa!!"

Yamato screamed in delight and jumped from the bed without a second thought!

She didn't even care about the wounds on her back that hadn't fully healed.

"Amazing!"

"Akira!!"

"Why didn't I realize this sooner?! You're actually not that bad!!"

Her face lit up with genuine joy.

And before Akira could even react—

Whoosh!

A soft, intoxicating scent hit him along with tremendous force.

Yamato—towering nearly three meters tall—hugged him tightly.

Akira's head was crushed against her massive, warm chest without mercy.

"Damn—!"

His face was buried in a suffocating sea of softness and warmth.

"S-So big…"

"I… can't breathe…"

"Let me go!"

He thought he might die—not by Kaido's hand, but from his daughter's "affectionate embrace."

"Hahahahaha!"

Yamato's carefree laughter echoed through the room.

"I can't believe you agreed so easily!"

"If I'd known marrying you would let me set sail, I would've told Father long ago I'd marry you!"

"Hahaha!"

Akira: "…"

"Could you… please let go first—"

Thud!

Laughing, Yamato released him.

Akira finally gasped for fresh air, coughing violently.

"Cough, cough, cough—!"

"Are you trying to kill your future husband like this?!"

But before he could finish complaining—

the next scene silenced him completely.

Yamato sat back down on the bed.

Then—

Rip—!

In a single motion, she tore away the bandages wrapped around her body!

Her pale skin, still bearing faint scars, shimmered under the moonlight.

And then—

Before Akira's widening eyes, Yamato removed the tattered remains of her clothes.

"?!"

Akira froze.

Utterly frozen.

Before him lay the tall, beautiful woman—her body forming a perfect, defiant "X" under the moonlight.

Not a single thread covered her.

Her ocean-blue eyes stared directly at him—without shame or hesitation.

Only the unwavering conviction of someone who lived by her belief:

"Because I am Kozuki Oden."

And the unbreakable will of a warrior:

"For the sake of freedom, I'll sacrifice anything."

Yamato's voice was soft, almost cheerful.

"Come on."

"We made a deal, didn't we?"

"Let's complete this 'transaction.'"

"After that, you'll help me—"

"Hold Father off for one hour."

"Just long enough for me to leave Onigashima."

"..."

Akira stood motionless.

His Adam's apple moved slightly as he swallowed hard.

He looked at Yamato's body—beautiful, but radiating a terrifying aura of resolve.

"Uh…"

"I can't deny it…"

"Yamato really is stunning."

Only one thought remained in his mind.

"In a few hours, I'll be fighting Kaido."

"If I don't enjoy this 'last meal' before that…"

"Wouldn't I regret it for the rest of my life?"
