Chapter 14 - Demon Sword Saint

The fierce wind kicked up by that passing air blade made Leon's skin sting painfully.

"That's... a terrifying slash."

Looking at that fearsome air blade that temporarily stopped the river's flow, Regina's eyes were filled with deep wariness.

Just that single slashing air blade could split that Thundertusk Boar from before in two.

As a four-star warrior with rich combat experience, Regina had clear judgment of strength levels.

Leon's eyes were locked dead on the opposite bank, the direction the attack came from.

This terrifying slashing air blade not only left a deep gully, the blade wind it raised also tore apart the white fog along its path, greatly increasing visibility.

On the opposite bank, a towering figure was slowly walking across the water.

Nearly sixteen feet tall, humanoid, with an exposed upper body showing muscles as developed and robust as a bodybuilder's, displaying formidable strength.

Deep purple skin branded with pale gold patterns and designs, a string of large red prayer beads around the neck, bulging veins on the forearms, long sharp nails, with an evil beauty.

Atop the head, pale gold bone matter protruded forward from the forehead, extending along both sides to the back of the skull where it curved upward. From afar, it looked like a domineering curved-brim battle hat.

Under the large bony brim you couldn't see the eyes, only that mouth full of sharp teeth.

A thick, long black scorpion-tail braid extended to the lower back, its end tightly bound by a large red prayer bead.

Below, pale gold bone matter protected the thighs like Eastern-style skirt armor, and on the feet were a pair of rhino-horn war boots formed from bone.

In his hands, he gripped a massive bone battle blade even more exaggerated than Regina's halberd, also entirely pale gold.

The whole image was like an enlarged, bare-chested blade-wielding ronin.

Absolutely domineering and cool, with maximum presence.

Seeing this sinister purple humanoid beast approaching with ill intent, Regina gripped her halberd tightly and turned to ask:

"What kind of beast is this? Quick, put on your scanner and look."

A scanner, an instrument used to investigate beast data, somewhat like the power level detector from Dragon Ball.

Just wear it on your eyes, look at the target beast, and the lens display would show the relevant beast information.

But Leon hadn't brought that thing at all, and didn't need to.

The reason was simple. In his view, that kind of tech product had privacy leak risks.

Who knew if that thing was secretly a camera? Maybe after putting it on, the scenery in your eyes became scenery in someone else's eyes too.

So Leon had long ago forcibly memorized the entire encyclopedia of various beast data in his brain.

The moment that sixteen-foot guy revealed his true form, Leon immediately knew all his information, and almost choked on the spot.

"Dark type, demon class, mid-tier B-grade rare beast, Demon Sword Saint, also known as Blind Blade Sword Master, Gurolasha."

Bitter smile and excitement flew together.

After hearing Leon's words, Regina felt like she'd fallen into an ice cellar, stunned on the spot.

Though she didn't know the specific information about the beast ahead, B-grade, mid-tier, rare...

If possible, she wanted to ask if they could surrender or run away.

Regina never lacked fighting spirit, but she wasn't an idiot either.

Throwing away their lives was unnecessary, right?

Leon's heart was also cursing internally.

I admit I got greedy, but I only wanted to be a little greedy. Too bad reality went overboard.

Running into this thing, winning means taking off, losing means game over. Not much else to say.

"What do we do? Retreat?" Regina asked.

"Retreating means death. Let's fight. Either it goes down, or we die."

Though this was playing a bit big, how could Leon possibly retreat? Plus, facing this guy, retreat was a dead end.

Don't let Gurolasha's sixteen-foot height fool you. His speed stats were seriously high.

"How about... you leave first, I'll cover the rear." Regina gritted her teeth.

"You're not afraid of dying?" Leon joked. But something stirred in his heart.

Regina glared hard at Leon. She didn't expect her boss to still have the mood to joke at this critical moment.

"Alright, coming here was my decision. How could I let you cover my rear? This is risk, but also opportunity. I never planned to retreat without fighting."

As his words fell, Leon suddenly had a portable rocket launcher in his hands.

"Idiot! Times have changed!"

With a loud shout, the missile traced a white line and struck precisely on Gurolasha's chest.

After a huge explosion, the tall figure walked out from the thick smoke completely unharmed.

"Okay, times haven't changed." Leon put away the rocket launcher and shrugged. Regina also cast a speechless look.

Chest muscles blocking missiles, the clown is me...

What the hell kind of physical durability? Damn!

Bloody cold light flashed. Crimson Crescent Moon was already dual-wielded in his hands. A turtle-shell-like spherical protective barrier also appeared faintly around his body.

"You...?"

Regina was somewhat dumbfounded. Wasn't her boss a beast tamer? How did he suddenly become a warrior?

"Stop standing there dazed. Never seen a beast tamer who can brawl?"

The Black Dragon Valkyrie instinctively nodded. She really hadn't...

Roar!

Though the rocket hadn't injured Gurolasha, the pain still enraged him. He threw back his head and roared with his sharp-toothed mouth open wide, his massive blade suddenly slashing horizontally!

A terrifying blade energy twenty-plus feet long flew toward them. Regina nimbly jumped, while Leon dropped flat on the ground...

Though it looked a bit pathetic, both successfully dodged this fierce slash.

"Hell Slash, really violent..."

Looking at the trees cut wholesale behind them and the expanded field of view, while Leon's heart pounded, he also felt burning hot.

Take him down, must take him down!

Regardless of what Leon thought, missing that strike, Gurolasha pushed off with his legs. Amid towering waves, his imposing figure leapt up from the water surface!

Bone blade raised high overhead, he brought down a mountain-splitting strike toward Regina.

"Don't clash with him! Dodge!" Leon shouted a reminder.

Actually, without him saying, Regina wouldn't face him head-on either.

Even a six-star warrior might not be able to withstand this Demon Sword Saint head-on, let alone her as just a four-star warrior.

Quickly sidestepping, Regina dodged almost right along the blade's edge.

With a massive boom, the earth was once again cleaved into a deep gully. The intense shockwave made Regina's form unstable.

But with her rich experience, she also used that force to flip and create distance.

Missing the strike, Gurolasha twisted his foot and pursued Regina again with his blade!

Like wind, lightning, and thunder, his form reached her in an instant.

So fast?!

Regina's pupils suddenly contracted. She hadn't expected such high-speed footwork beneath that massive frame.

Comparing their sizes, Regina at nearly six-and-a-half feet became a hobbit in front of Gurolasha.

Just as Regina steeled herself to clash head-on, violent blade singing rang out from the side!

"Get back!"
