Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Duel Spirit

Following Yuta's suggestion, they started to make a new deck for Joey with the remainder of Bandit Keith's deck.

Joey initially tried to refuse, but after considering that his sister needed the tournament money, he eventually agreed; Yugi also assisted by offering suggestions and bringing out his card binder to provide additional cards. The new deck itself looked good, but it was debatable whether Joey would be able to pilot it well.

However, at least, it was now for certain that Kaiba would not be able to call Joey a 3rd-rate Duellist with a 4th-rate Deck anymore.

Even Mai traded for some cards, and she seemed to be doing something with her deck, but she refused to show it to them, citing that tomorrow they would return to being opponents, and she needed to keep trump cards. Yutaka looked at her with disdain. It felt like she was insinuating that without knowing her cards, she was certain to win against him, which felt laughable.

Through this team-building activity, the tension between the gang and Yutaka had also eased considerably.

However, that tension had already disappeared once Yuta learnt that the soul of Zorc was sealed inside the Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon card rather than the Millennium Ring. This way, Zorc would not be able to invade and control Yuta's body whenever he wanted, unlike Bakura. So it could be said that Yutaka actually got a good deal in this exchange. Still, Yuta would not suddenly go back and apologise to Bakura and others, as that would be embarrassing. The Millennium Ring itself was also not a good thing, given that it was created through human sacrifice; therefore, he chose not to mention keeping it with him. He still wanted Yugi's Grandpa's help to take this damn thing off of him.

As for what will happen now that the final boss of the first series has disappeared? That had nothing to do with him. There were countless world-destroying bosses in the YGO world; Yutaka was sure that one of them would appear to pick up the slack. Heck, it might even be bosses from the later series, like Darkness from GX or even Ultimaya Tzolkin, the counterpart of the Crimson Dragon in 5D's. Although Tzolkin, also known as Bishbaalkin, originated from the manga universe, meaning it was not certain that he would appear; however, there were many ultimate bosses that could replace Zorc, so Yutaka was not concerned that Yugi would have an overly easy life.

Yuta found himself in an unknown forest.

He felt like he was about to get a headache.

This is like what? The third time he was transmigrated?

Did he offend the god of transmigration or something?

Why did he keep getting tossed around like unwanted trash?

The first time, he was in an unknown mountain getting hunted by that green dragon.

The second time, he found himself in the Duellist Kingdom arc of the Yugioh world.

Now, for the third time, he was in a new unknown forest once again.

But this time something felt different.

He was still wearing the same clothes, his deck was still secured in his belt, and an ominous Millennium Ring was still hanging around his neck.

At least this time, he had weapons, I suppose.

If another green dragon pops out, let's see if it can deal with his Red-Eyes Black Dragon.

*Shine*

While Yuta was fantasising about beating down the green dragon from last time, the Millennium Ring on his chest started to move around and glow.

Soon all the prongs started to point towards a certain direction inside the forest.

Yuta grabbed the Millennium Ring and inspected it closely.

He wasn't sure why it started to point towards the forest.

Aside from returning to the previous YGO world, he had no overt desires, so he was not sure what it could be pointing towards.

It was not like he could go back to his previous world, could he?

WAIT A MINUTE!

That was when it suddenly dawned on Yuta what the Millennium Ring might be pointing towards.

It was CAT GIRLS!

Definitely, cat girls!

If there were any hidden desires that Yuta himself was not aware of deep inside his heart, it would be his obsession with cat girls.

Since this was a new world, Yuta was certain that it contained cat girls, and his good friend Millennium Ring was guiding him to them.

Wait for me, my pitiful little cat girls! Your saviour is coming to rescue you!

Furthermore, thank you, Millennium Ring bro!

After he saved the cat girls, Yuta swore that he would find a female ring for his Millennium Ring bro to get married with.

Millennium Ring: "..."

***

*Whimper*

As Yuta followed the prongs to his destination, he could hear faint whimpers coming ahead.

Yuta was even more certain that the ring was pointing him towards the cat girls.

After all, only cat girls could have such cute whimpers in this world.

As he arrived at the source of the sound, Yuta's heart was beating wildly; whether it was due to running or excitement was unknown.

Yuta carefully parted the bush that was blocking him from the source of the voice.

As he calmed himself down and made sure he was not dishevelled, he carefully parted the bush. First impressions were important after all; he could not appear ugly to his adorable little cat girl.

However, once he parted the bush, only disappointment awaited.

Ahead of him stood a little white ferret with red flame markings all over it, caught in a hunter's trap.

Ferret: "..."

Yuta: "..."

The little ferret and the man looked at each other quietly.

Yuta angrily looked down at the Millennium Ring on his chest that stopped reacting.

Where were the promised cat girls!?

Also, why did he transmigrate into the world of Avatar: The Last Airbender?

From Yuta's perspective, only the world of Avatar had such unique animals.

They were usually combinations of two different animals, and the ferret in front of him looked like a combination of a white mouse and a ferret because of its size.

*Screech*

The little ferret could finally not hold on and started hissing at Yuta threateningly.

Yuta looked at the ferret with disdain.

Who cares about a little ferret like you!

But looking at the pitiful look on its face, Yutaka's heart couldn't help but soften.

Anyway, let's save it for now.

He still needed to find a way out of the forest and determine the timeline of this world.

If it was advanced enough, he thought about trying to find Toph.

Among the original cast, Toph was Yuta's favourite, and he was also kind of sad that she was the only one that probably did not get her happy ending.

Because, according to what was shown in the anime, Toph had a crush on Sokka just like any other woman in the show.

In fact, he found it quite perplexing that, out of everyone, Sokka was the one who constantly picked up girls.

Maybe it was because he was witty, humorous, and brave?

When he thought about it like that, it kind of made sense.

Anyway, back to the topic, Sokka was not interested in Toph, even though she appeared to be interested in him.

Then Toph had marriages with two different people and gave birth to Suyin and Lin.

Looking at their relationships in Legends of Korra, it was apparent that she did not have a happy married life.

If so, he would not mind giving Toph a new home with himself so that she could be happy.

That was also why the timeline was important.

He was not someone who would be interested in a 12-year-old girl, regardless of how much he admired her in the show, since he was now 18.

In such a situation he could only find an unnamed extra that was not mentioned in the show, as Toph was the only person that slightly interested him.

*Flash*

As Yuta walked closer, a small fireball condensed in the little ferret's mouth and shot towards him.

However, it only hit in front of him, scorching the ground.

Clearly a kind ferret, as despite getting caught in a hunter's trap, it still was not willing to hurt others and just sent a warning shot.

This also strengthened Yuta's belief that this was the world of Avatar.

Why?

Because in that show animals were actually the first benders in the world.

So this ferret must be one of the said animals that could bend.

Since he could not get close, Yuta had another brilliant idea!

Something he wanted to try for a long, long time.

He picked out a card from his deck.

[Remove Trap] [SPELL]

[SPELL CARD]

[Select 1 Trap Card on the field and destroy it.]

The ferret looked curiously at the man who was pointing a card towards it, not understanding what he was trying to do.

Soon the Millennium Ring on Yuta's chest, along with the card in his hand, started to glow.

*Clink*

With that sound, the trap tormenting the ferret finally broke free.

The ferret excitedly tried to move away, but the wound on its paw stopped it.

Seeing that Yuta decided to do another experiment and took out another card.

[Gift of the Mystical Elf] [TRAP]

[TRAP CARD]

[Increase your Life Points by 300 points for each monster on the field.]

Next, the phantom of a divine spellcaster appeared behind Yuta and pointed towards the ferret, healing its injured paw.

The ferret curiously looked at its paw and cautiously stepped on it to find that it was not hurting anymore.

Seeing that his experiment succeeded, Yuta was delighted.

He was feeling a little drained, but at least this proved that he could use the abilities of his cards in reality.

He planned on keeping a bunch of revive and healing cards on him at all times in case someone around him got hurt in the future. That way he could save their lives.

As for using it for self-defence? Well, Yuta was a pacifist, so he did not think he would get to use them much.

Yuta noticed that the ferret had not left and was brushing against his leg like a cat to show its gratitude.

Seeing as it was cute, Yuta also kneeled and started to pet the ferret when suddenly the ferret burst into light, blinding him.

Then Yuta passed out.

As he passed out, Yuta cursed vehemently, expressing his frustration that the ferret was an ungrateful wild beast attempting to take the life of its saviour, and he regretted feeling the urge to get involved.
