Chapter 3 - White Lion Tribe (2)

"What is it?", Gurk asked

The goblin language was rough, but for some reason, he was almost immediately able to use it. Instead of words, the goblins used frequencies as a means of communication. This was probably why their ears were longer than that of humans, and their throat more muscular.

"Lord Grunty wants us to join the attack squad on the Fire Wolf tribe", Gobnir muttered

Gurk frowned. This was not the first time he had heard of the Fire Wolf Tribe. Using rabbit pelt as currency, he had traded information of the dungeon they were in. It was a rather large D-rank dungeon with three main areas.

The Rustfang mountains, in which the White Lion Tribe and the Fire Wolf Tribe were established. Both tribes were in constant war, fighting for the few resources available at such altitude and low temperatures.

The Red Forest, in which the Blood Dagger Tribe was established. The Red Forest was a much tougher environment. After all, there were bears, spirits and ents capable of killing most goblin warriors that encountered their paths. The Blood Dagger Tribe was the biggest and strongest of all. Their leader was even said to wield magic.

The Black Swamp, a desolate land filled with toxins, home to three minor goblin tribes. Since they were far beyond the red forest, there was little knowledge about them.

Lord Grunty was making a move.

He was said to be a calculative leader, but the decision proved otherwise.

A wise leader would have waited for their numbers to grow before attacking the Fire Wolf Tribe. After all, with the technology of rabbit breeding, they were not desperate for food. At least, not yet. This was a rare technology for a goblin tribe, and it was said to have been passed down from generation to generation.

But Lord Grunty was eager to prove his worth. The rise of discontent was evident in the tribe. Despite being the strongest, the Fire Wolf Tribe was growing increasingly bolder, hunting on the White Lion Tribe's territory.

After all, the White Lion Tribe possessed 300 goblins, but only 50 who knew how to fight, and less than ten goblin warriors.

The Fire Wolf Tribe numbered more than 500, with roughly 100 who knew how to fight.

They could be said to be almost twice stronger.

"When?", Gurk asked Gobnir

The latter answered prompty: "Tonight. He summoned you to the gates. Although we never interacted with the warriors, words travel fast. They saw we were capable of hunting, and drafted us like the rest"

"And the rewards?"

"Food, status, and a blessing from the White Lion Spirit"

Now that was something interesting.
