Synopsis
In a world where gates are spawning across planet Albion, hunters gifted with classes and a system started to awaken. Under the promises of wealth and glory, those hunters formed guilds and started to conquer those gates. In this context, Gurk is not a simple goblin. He is a goblin with memories of his time as a third-rate hunter. And more importantly, he retained his system. Truly villainous MC? Check. System? Check. Slow paced? Check. Kingdom building? Check.

Chapter 1 - Captain Yeol Park

Albion.

A planet where monsters started to come out of gates twenty years ago.

Unlike regular wild beasts, those monsters possess an inherent feature: mana. Their hide makes them resistant to regular bullets, and made most armies helpless.

Thankfully, a new population emerged in the midst of the crisis: hunters.

Capable of wielding mana, hunters grow stronger by killing monsters. As for the byproducts of gates, they can be manufactured by the non-combat hunters: blades capable of cutting through steel with ease, potions capable of curing the most incurable of diseases...

In twenty years, governments were replaced by kingdoms sponsored by guilds. Hunters were elevated from regular citizens to high-class citizens with unbelievable privileges.

Captain Yeol Park was one such hunter. He was far from being a high-level hunter. He had neither the talent, nor the spirit to become one. At best, he could be considered a third-rate hunter. After a decade of dungeon crawling, however, he had amassed a clean record.

But...

This very same hunter, who had just bought a villa for his parents, was on the brink of death.

Ironically, he did not die to a dragon, or a monster.

He died to a fellow group of hunters.

A young woman, from the Phoenix Guild, ranked 3rd in the world.

She was a rookie, called Anya Polska. Capable of wielding necromancy, she deemed him good enough to fit her army of undead.

Seeing her smile, Yeol Park, however, did not accept his fate.

"You...I won't let you turn me into an undead...", he muttered

He took a pill, one that he had found in a ruin.

[You have ingested the Cursed Goblin Pill [S]...Your strength and agility are elevated for a short amount of time]

His torso was still bleeding, but a newfound strength coursed through his body.

He could do it.

He leaped forward, and used the skill that he knew best.

[Swordsmanship [C] activated...]

However, the speed, the strength, the stability....It was a cut unlike any other he had achieved in his lifetime.

A perfect slash.

So perfect that the rookie from the Phoenix guild could not react in time. Nor could her teammates.

*SPLASH*

He killed her.

[You have killed Anya Polska, Lv. 43 necromancer...]

[You have earned 5600 EXP...]

And he did not stop with her.

He could not revive his dead teammates.

Ourin, the shield warrior who had sacrificed himself to give him a chance to live, despite plans of marrying his girlfriend in the near future.

Natasha, the third-rate mage who could have joined any C-rank hunter team yet chose to stick with them because they were "funny"

Jask, the third-rate thief who was always getting in trouble for stealing from fellow hunters and despite his 'bad ideas', allowed the team to gain decent equipment.

He could not revive them.

But he could do them one last favour.

He could avenge them.
