Chapter 48 - Yammy VS Shin

"Anger is my power!"

Yammy's Reiatsu soared dramatically as his body grew larger. His roar echoed beneath the sky of the entire battlefield.

Looking at Yammy's massive, hundred-meter-tall body, Shin felt it was necessary to change the location of the fight, or else Renji, who was nearby, would likely be wiped out. Therefore, he used his Wings of Crimson and flew away from Las Noches.

"Trying to run, you insect!"

Yammy pushed off with his powerful legs, launching himself forward. Every time he landed, he kicked up massive amounts of sand, creating cascading sandfalls. With his twelve legs transforming into two, Yammy's movements were no longer as sluggish or cumbersome.

"That should be far enough."

Shin stopped and quietly waited for Yammy.

"Aren't you running anymore?" Yammy, having caught up, looked at Shin in the air.

"When did you get the delusion that I was running away?"

Then, Shin curled his lips. "Yammy, I've found a suitable opponent for you."

Shin didn't intend to waste any more time dealing with Yammy.

In the original timeline, Yammy was defeated in this very form by Byakuya and Zaraki, and who knew if this guy could keep getting bigger?

Tenpa Jōsai!

A Flame Giant, matching Yammy in size, descended with a hellish form. If Yammy resembled a demon from hell, then this being was the demon itself. Blazing crimson flames ignited across the white desert sea, and the sand began to melt under the extreme heat.

"Huh?"

Yammy was surprised as he looked at the monster across from him that was just as tall as he was. This was the first time he had encountered an opponent of comparable size while in his Resurrección state.

However, Yammy had absolute confidence in his strength. In the next instant, he launched the first attack.

He swung his house-sized fists, slamming blow after blow onto the Flame Giant, creating loud impact sounds.

But the summoned Flame Giant had no consciousness, only the instinct to fight. It felt no pain and would only vanish when Shin's power ran out or he actively stopped the technique.

The Flame Giant let out a massive roar, as if trying to shake the heavens down. Following this, it opened its massive mouth and spewed forth raging flames.

Yammy refused to be outdone and condensed a Cero in his mouth.

The flames and the Cero collided, resulting in a fierce explosion that formed a large ring of light in the air, resembling a falling star.

Although the re-evolved Yammy had significantly increased defense, he was still burned by several residual flames. With fierce flames burning beneath his feet, he had to expend a large amount of Reiryoku to envelop his body and protect himself.

The ambient temperature was rising rapidly, making him feel incredibly hot and irritated.

"This is infuriating!"

"How about you try this!"

Yammy clenched his fists, compressing his Reiatsu into red energy projectiles that he continuously fired as he swung his arms.

Bala!

Its speed is twenty times that of a Cero.

Furthermore, released by the giant Yammy, its power was no weaker than his Cero before his Resurrección.

The Flame Giant wrapped its body in its massive fiery wings, blocking all the Balas. Then, with a flap of its giant wings, the Balas were deflected back.

Several struck Yammy, while the rest landed in the desert behind him, exploding and kicking up huge amounts of sand, like the onset of a sandstorm.

Subsequently, the two roared and clashed together again.

Shin watched the battle between the two giant monsters from the side, feeling as if he were watching King Kong fight Godzilla.

The Flame Giant used its arms and tail to wrap around Yammy, making it difficult for him to move.

Taking advantage of this opening, Shin flew behind Yammy and pressed his palm onto his back.

Cleave!

A net-like slash large enough to cover half of Yammy's body formed, slicing his upper half into pieces.

Yammy, the Enraged Beast, is dead.

"Hoo—"

Shin was starting to feel the strain after continuously using Tenpa Jōsai and a giant Cleave.

"It's much better than the first time I used Tenpa Jōsai."

[Mission Complete: Kill the Enraged Yammy]

[Obtained Weapon: Excalibur]

Shin was pleasantly surprised.

Excalibur is the Anti-Fortress Noble Phantasm held by Artoria Pendragon in the Fate series.

Shin quickly took out the holy sword, and as expected, there was no scabbard.

The scabbard, Avalon, grants immortality, automatically heals the wielder, and possesses the strongest defense.

'What a pity. The System didn't include the scabbard like last time.'

After sighing, Shin carefully examined the holy sword in his hand.

The blade was silver-white, the guard was forged from gold, and the hilt was inlaid with gems.

Magnificent!

This was the first impression the sword gave Shin.

However, without the scabbard, he could only keep it inside his Yogasa normally.

Shin returned to the battlefield, where Renji had just woken up.

Renji's wounds had healed but the pain throughout his body caused him to twist his expression.

"Nohara-san, did you... save me?"

He paused, then suddenly remembered Yammy and looked around.

"Where is Yammy?"

"Well... I saved you when you were about to be beaten to death by him, and then I took him out."

Renji gulped.

The hidden Espada No. 0, such a terrifying giant beast, had been killed by Shin.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Can you go to Captain Unohana yourself? I still need to stay here and watch."

Shin currently didn't have the spare energy to use Reverse Cursed Technique.

"No problem."

After sending Renji off, Shin quietly sensed the situation on the various battlefields.

Only Byakuya's Reiatsu was stable, although it was slightly weaker than when the fight began.

"It looks like he was the first to finish his fight." Shin muttered to himself, then flew toward Byakuya's location.

The battlefield was a mess, with ruins and broken walls everywhere.

Espada No. 7, Zommari Rureaux, was nowhere to be seen, indicating he was thoroughly dead.

His Resurrección ability caused dozens of eyes to sprout all over his body, and anyone gazed upon by his eyes would be dominated.

If Shin had encountered him, he guaranteed he would have finished him off in a few moves, not giving him a chance to use his Resurrección.

This was because Zommari's Resurrección form was unsightly, enough to trigger trypophobia.

Fortunately, Byakuya appeared to have only suffered minor injuries.

"Captain Kuchiki is really fast." Shin said.

"Thanks to your information." Byakuya was as succinct as always.

Shin asked, "We won't be continuing the attack for now. Captain Kuchiki, will you return to the main camp or stay with me?"

Byakuya hesitated for a moment and said, "I'll stay with you."

He could still sense Rukia's Reiatsu fluctuations, and staying here would allow him to provide timely support.

Meanwhile, in the main palace of Las Noches.

Aizen and the others had already learned of the deaths of the Zero and Seventh Espada.

Kaname asked, "Aizen-sama, should we send in more people?"

Aizen shook his head. "No need. We will simply watch."

The deaths of the two did not cause the slightest ripple in his heart.

Now, the Hōgyoku was just shy of fully awakening, after which it would enter the fusion stage, and he only needed to wait quietly for the right time.
