Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Deduction of the special profession

Among the three special classes: [Asura], [Valkyrie], and [Disciple of Disaster].

Nolan's initial goal was set on [Disciple of Disaster].

Mare is a dark elf, a subspecies of human, so he has no racial class; his entire 100 levels are constructed from job classes.

This also means that this special class has no racial prerequisites!

Nolan had quite a bit of information about Mare's job classes, and with the 'Genius' class providing a margin for error, he might be able to derive the special class [Disciple of Disaster] by sacrificing one or two intermediate classes.

The other two.

[Asura] is a special class mastered by Cocytus.

Nolan had specifically researched these special classes. Based on the limited information from Cocytus's status sheet, the [Asura] class didn't seem to have a clear connection to his job class structure.

He suspected that this special class was likely obtained through some special item or artifact.

As for [Valkyrie]...

In the anime and light novels, there are currently two individuals who possess this class: one is Shatia, and the other is Zesshi Zetsumei.

Both of them are female.

Nolan couldn't help but guess that this was a special class that only females could obtain.

Knowing this information,

Nolan could only focus his goal on [Disciple of Disaster]. But now, the appearance of the 'Priestess' might have given him a 'female character buff'.

Therefore!

He might be able to become a [Valkyrie], a special class.

"Shatia's [Valkyrie] class structure is much clearer than Mare's [Disciple of Disaster]."

Nolan took a deep breath, recalling the information about Shatia in his mind, while raising a finger to sketch on the ground.

As one of the two characters, besides the Skeleton King, who appeared most frequently in the anime and light novels, the information revealed about her was naturally the most extensive.

Shatia's level structure is:

Racial Levels 20Lv + Job Levels 80Lv = Total Level 100Lv.

The job classes revealed on her status sheet are: Valkyrie/Lancer 5Lv, Cursed Knight 5Lv, and Priest 10Lv.

And in the light novels, in addition to these three classes, two more were revealed: Blood Drinker and Curse Caster.

Nolan was very sure that these two classes were high-tier classes.

The reason for his certainty was that 'Blood Drinker' possessed a unique skill called 'Blood Pool,' which was demonstrated in Shatia's battle with the Skeleton King.

As for Curse Caster, the novel mentioned that this class had a negative effect, causing Shatia to fall into a berserk state when she touched blood.

In the anime, when Shatia first encountered the Nail Clipper and attacked those humans, she suddenly went berserk, which was due to this class.

It's just that the anime didn't specifically highlight it.

In the game 'Overlord,' classes with negative effects are generally powerful high-tier classes, using negative effects to impose certain restrictions.

So!

Valkyrie/Lancer 5Lv

Cursed Knight 5Lv

Priest 10Lv

Blood Drinker 5Lv

Curse Caster 5Lv

These are all the job classes Nolan knew Shatia possessed, totaling 25 levels, with 55 levels still vacant.

It still seems like there's not enough information, and it appears impossible to deduce clearly!

But!

"I'm a science student, you know," Nolan grinned, falling into a state of excitement, as if he had returned to the mindset of playing puzzle games in his previous life.

He quickly reached out and drew circles around the two job classes he had written on the ground!

First, he set aside the special class [Valkyrie]; 'Priest' is a basic class and doesn't require much attention.

Next,

Nolan didn't know much about 'Blood Drinker,' so he could also set it aside for now.

That leaves the two high-tier classes, which should both have independent prerequisite job class structures!

Following a mathematical problem-solving approach, by including the 'unknown,' one can forcibly derive the 'known'!

Basic Warrior Class (Unknown) 15LV → Intermediate Warrior Class (Unknown) 10Lv → Cursed Knight 5Lv = 30Lv

Basic Caster Class (Unknown) 15LV → Intermediate Caster Class (Unknown) 10Lv → Curse Caster 5Lv = 30Lv

Then, combined 60Lv + Valkyrie/Lancer 5LV + Blood Drinker 5Lv + Priest 10Lv = 80Lv.

Exactly 80 job levels!

Shatia's information suddenly became completely clear!

The high-tier class 'Blood Drinker' is a high-tier racial class unique to the Vampire race!

Among these classes, the only somewhat conspicuous one is the basic class 'Priest.'

The other person who possesses [Valkyrie] is Zesshi Zetsumei of Theocracy!

Among the currently known powerful characters, Zesshi Zetsumei is the only one whose job class structure is completely clear:

Warrior: 10Lv

Berserker: 10Lv

Master Warrior: 10Lv

Low-Tier Valkyrie/Omni: 5Lv

Weapon Master: 7Lv

Thief: 1Lv

Assassin: 5Lv

Executioner: 10Lv

Priest: 10Lv

High Priest: 10Lv

Heretic Inquisitor: 10Lv

The number of classes is eleven, and her total level reaches 88.

Judging solely by level, Zesshi Zetsumei has reached the first tier of strength in the New World, but looking at her job class structure, it is incredibly chaotic.

The job class structure formed by the three major series of classes—Warrior, Thief, and Faith-based Caster—means that Zesshi Zetsumei's overall strength is actually far lower than that of a player of the same level.

And the special class [Low-Tier Valkyrie] that Zesshi Zetsumei possesses can be understood as a degraded version of the true Valkyrie.

This situation arises because Zesshi Zetsumei simply did not meet the true prerequisites for [Valkyrie], thus resulting in an incomplete phenomenon unique to the New World.

For example,

For high-tier classes like [Ninja], which require reaching level 60 or higher to learn, people in the New World can acquire the class simply by learning the skills first.

But special classes are different; these classes have extremely stringent prerequisites!

Nolan guessed that Zesshi Zetsumei likely obtained this class indirectly through her innate unique ability, but due to the demanding prerequisites of special classes, Zesshi Zetsumei could only acquire a degraded version.

The only class that both Shatia and Zesshi Zetsumei possess is [Priest].

As Theocracy's ace, it's normal for Zesshi Zetsumei to have the Priest class, but Shatia is an undead!

Despite being an undead vampire, she has a Holy-type 'Priest' class, which is completely out of place, and she hasn't even maxed it out.

The only possible reason for doing so is—

—to fulfill a certain condition!

Nolan's eyes gleamed with excitement, a flush on his cheeks, and he slammed his palm heavily on the ground, "Got you, [Valkyrie]!"

The game "YGGDRASIL" is actually based on Norse mythology.

The so-called "Valkyrie" had no such concept in the early stages of mythology; they were called "Valkyrja," meaning 'chooser of the slain,' and were generally synonymous with evil.

Later, they gradually evolved into "women who choose the fallen warriors," becoming sacred; the legendary Valhalla is said to be related to the Valkyries.

Setting aside these backgrounds for now!

The prerequisites for the [Valkyrie] class are very likely: female, the basic class 'Priest,' and the high-tier class 'Cursed Knight'!

The reason it's Cursed Knight and not Curse Caster is that [Valkyrie] is a warrior-specialized class, not a caster-specialized class.

"Phew~"

Nolan clapped the dust off his hands, let out a heavy breath, and then lifted his foot to erase all the seemingly messy Chinese characters on the ground.

Although no one in this world would recognize Chinese characters, it's always better to be careful!

"The high-tier class 'Cursed Knight,' according to the game's settings, not only requires reaching level 60 or higher to obtain, but also fulfilling the prerequisite job class structure."

"However, according to the class acquisition situation in the New World, one can directly obtain a high-tier class by learning the skills first."

Nolan propped his hands on his knees, then stood up, patted the dust off his backside, and murmured with a smile:

"If my memory serves me right, there's someone in the 'Bahareth Empire' who possesses the Cursed Knight class."

Knowing the prerequisites for a 'special class,' although he still wasn't completely 100% sure, at least he had a chance to try.

Nolan's heart settled slightly.

"That person in the 'Bahareth Empire' won't disappear."

"So, the first thing to do is to raise my level, and then head to the 'Bahareth Empire' to acquire the Cursed Knight high-tier class."

With a clear goal in mind, Nolan no longer hesitated and set off in the direction of the Adventurers' Guild.
