Arlene's POV
"Can I ask why?" The question leaves my lips before I can stop it.
"Did you know your transportation department has ties with the Romanian Mafia?" His response catches me off guard.
"Are you kidding me? You couldn't just be honest and tell me you wanted in because you're after premium cocaine?" I let out a bitter laugh.
"You already knew?" A grin spreads across his face.
"No, I didn't know for certain, but the models backstage talk. They mention getting their best supply from somewhere connected to transportation. You pick up things when you're around that world long enough. You didn't need this whole charade. I would have helped if you'd just been straight with me from the beginning." I shake my head in disbelief.
"Do you really mean that, Arlene?" His smirk is infuriating.
