Leonier, Capital of Lower Cryx Duchy
Two days ago...
Heavy his cargo perhaps, and old the carriage. As well as the mule horse which seems to only had some few years left before meeting it's demise, Rouen was determined to deliver this much commodities straigh to the Goran's town. What's funny is; the quest that he takes from the guild only include fifteen barrels of wine, but now there is ten more barrels of wine, ten crates of smoked meat, twenty sack of salt, fifteen sack of grain and five box of exquisite spices. All was packed tidily and fully leaving no free useless space in the carriage. Reasons for this is that he heard the merchants of Leonier's market district, which one of the bigest and most important market district in the duchy, were planing on their next touring. They were chating about some prices and caravan's route plan. Curious about what's the best commodities to sell from this city to the town he's about to go, he boldly ask the merchant group. At first they laugh at him, obviously such a thing was kinda taboo among the merchants. There's even a code unofficialy made throughout the time in the merchants comunity regarding such matters, for one had all the right to keep the secrets of their way earning coins. Such act would be seen as a shame and unpleasant in the merchant's comunity, but then again Rouen is not a merchant, he's a member of the adventure's guild, so he can avoid that shame, and it wasn't everyday for adventurer like him would go and doing such a thing, maybe he just need to make some more coin while he doing his delivery quest, it wont hurt giving him a little advices about the prices, they though, and since he ask nicely...
"Ha! any kind of spices from here probably sells more there." Said one of them.
"Salt...salt will give you some profits too, and while you at it, why don't you increase the number of those barrels of wine you bough since they probably need more of it there, aye?" Said the merchant who sells the wine which Rouen needs for the quest, maybe he said that to make Rouen buy more of his stocks?
"I heard the harvest wasn't so good there this year, might be good add some grain i say."
"Some meat boy, it's cheaper here."
In the end Rouen spends a thousand eight hundred fifty five more Karlings aside of the quest's items he must bough. That's take quite a big chunk out of his purse, he recon there's probably about five hundreds Karlings left in his pocket. This better be a good investment, for if this actualy a fail and he lose money, he promised himself this would be the first and the last.
Rouen then pay twelve Karlings to the stable master, he rented the ceapest carriage and a mule horse he can find, determined to save money as much as posible, since he doesn't yet to know what fortune awaits him in Goran's market, keep in mind that the decent carriage and mule usualy cost about thirty to fourty Karlings, the one he rent is questionably cheap and old at the same time.
The way to the goran's town is west, takes about thirteen to fifteen hours of journey or should it be said just a day, if he's fast enough and take no time to rest he will arrived there at the nightfall since it's just nine o'clock in the morning now, but then again his carriage is full and his mule is old and lame, he might be slower and probably must set a camp at night and countinue at tomorrow morning. The thoughs of that doesn't sit well in his mind, Rouen knows how risky things could be, even though Leonier and Goran's was near, and the roads arguably safe since it's still close to the capital after all, and patrols is somewhat reliable from what he heard, but there's no telling if bad things might happen. Adventurer's life is always a gamble life, exiting, rewarding but not always safe. Never the less, he's going, he hold the mule's rein, and go through the roads steadily. Worries still in his head, but won't let himself disheartened, for the way is only one; foward.
