Chapter 11 - The first day of training

"Ugh… this is going to be a long day," John muttered, stretching as he prepared for the meeting with his new teacher. He doubted the teacher could really teach him anything.

He got dressed methodically: socks, pants, shirt, shoes. Done. Ready for the day.

He watched TV, idly passing the time, until a voice called from downstairs.

"He's here!" shouted Tod.

John rushed down and froze at the doorway. A man with red hair, hazel eyes, and a crisp blue outfit stood there, smiling slightly.

"This is the one?" the man asked Tod.

"Yes," Tod replied. "He's my little brother. You won't have to go over all the basics—he's a bit of a genius."

"Is that so?" the man exclaimed, a hint of excitement in his voice.

And just like that, Tod vanished.

"All right, what are your traits?" the man asked, folding his arms.

"Uhm… I have teleportation. I can use wind clones because of my affinity for wind magic. I have a special eye ability… though I don't understand it very well," John said.

"Hm… interesting," the man murmured, tapping his chin. "I can work with this."

"Oh, and my name is Shin," he added. "I'll be your new teacher for weekends like this one."

"I want to get a good idea of what your eye does," Shin continued, leaning slightly forward. "Tell me… what do you understand about it?"

"Well… I know it allows me to analyze things better than a regular person," John replied cautiously.

"Good," Shin said, smirking. "In these three days, I'll make you even more of a prodigy—one to be feared above all others."

John's eyes gleamed. "I'm game."
