The Gallagher House.
Poverty is truly a terrifying thing.
Debbie's face was covered in tears. She panicked for a long while before calming down just enough to reach out a trembling hand to check for Carl's breath.
Carl was breathing. He wasn't dead!
Debbie instantly got emotional. She frantically shook Carl while screaming, trying to wake him up. "Carl! Carl!!"
Unfortunately, the unconscious Carl didn't respond at all.
Debbie was frantic. She wanted to call Fiona...
But alas, the house had no cell phones and no landline. She couldn't make a call even if she wanted to!
A few seconds later.
Debbie had an idea. She jumped up, rushed out of the house, ran next door, found Tommy, and begged him for help.
Tommy was a decent guy. After hearing Debbie out, he didn't waste a second. He followed Debbie back to the Gallagher house and rushed to Carl's side.
Then, Tommy took charge of the rescue.
As a veteran who had spent quite a few years in the Navy, Tommy knew a thing or two about first aid.
In no time at all, he aimed a slap right at Carl's junk...
Smack!
"FUCK!!!"
The excruciating pain shot straight to Carl's brain. Carl sat up abruptly, screaming in agony.
Seeing this.
Both Debbie and Tommy breathed a huge sigh of relief.
"Alright," Tommy said to Debbie. "But just in case, Carl should go to the hospital for a checkup. He was out for a long time; there might be issues."
Debbie nodded repeatedly, wiping the tears from her face. "I don't have a phone. Can you help me call Fiona?"
"Sure," Tommy agreed readily, pulling out his phone. "What's the number?"
Debbie immediately rattled off the digits.
Tommy dialed and waited for an answer.

In a secluded alley.
A police car was rocking.
In the back seat, Fiona was stark naked and dripping with sweat.
Tony, while in motion, looked down at Fiona and felt like he had reached the peak of happiness.
"Fast! Fast! Fast!... Oh!!" Fiona cried out.
The timing was impeccable.
Just then, the phone rang.
Fiona really didn't want to move, but she reached out and grabbed her phone anyway.
Seeing an unknown number, she pressed answer, confused. "Hello?"
"Fiona, it's Tommy. Something happened to Carl. I'll put Debbie on," Tommy didn't waste words, getting straight to the point before handing the phone to Debbie.
Hearing the words "Something happened to Carl," Fiona's body jolted, and anxiety flooded her.
"Fiona..." Having connected with Fiona, Debbie started crying again. It took her a while to explain what happened.
By this point.
Fiona's brain was buzzing like a series of explosions going off. "I'm coming home right now!!"
She hung up immediately and ordered Tony, "Something happened to Carl. Take me back. Fast!!!"
Tony didn't dare disobey.
In moments.
The police car sirens wailed as they sped toward the Gallagher house.
Ten minutes later.
With a screech of brakes, the police car stopped.
Tony and Fiona rushed out of the car and into the house.
Gallagher House, Living Room.
Carl was sitting on the sofa like nothing had happened, drinking soda and watching TV. Seeing Fiona, he even gave a smug, cocky grin, looking quite proud of himself.
Debbie, on the other hand, looked panicked, her face streaked with tears, nervous and scared.
Seeing Carl like this, Fiona's eyes instantly turned red. She rushed to Carl, hugged him tightly, and asked with immense concern, "Are you okay? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere..."
Carl was being hugged so tight he couldn't breathe. "You're squeezing too hard! I can't breathe!!"
Hearing this, Fiona hurriedly let go, then looked him over nervously again.
After the inspection.
"We're going to the hospital. You have to get a checkup," Fiona said decisively.
Carl didn't want to go. He shook his head. "No need. I feel great. Fiona, you didn't see it. I beat that black guy until he curled up on the floor. It was awesome!"
In this situation.
Fiona couldn't handle that kind of talk. "Shut up. Hospital!!"
Carl couldn't win the argument, so he frowned. "Hospitals cost a lot of money. Do you have money?"
Thump.
Fiona was speechless: "..."
And that is why.
Poverty is truly a terrifying thing.
---
At a time like this, Simp Tony naturally stepped up. "Go to the hospital. I have money. I'll front it for you."
Carl's life might be in danger. Under these circumstances, Fiona didn't care about pride. She nodded without hesitation, picked Carl up, and started walking. "Debbie, grab Liam. Come with us."
Soon.
The five of them got into the car.
Tony drove, speeding toward the hospital.
On the way.
Fiona took out her phone and called Lip.
As soon as the call connected.
Fiona exploded, screaming directly into the phone, "Where the fuck did you go!! Do you know Carl almost died just now!!"
"If you don't fucking want to live in this house!"
"Then get the fuck out!!"
The truth was, could this be blamed on Lip?
Not really.
Fiona knew that in her heart. The reason she screamed like that was simply that her resentment toward Lip had been building up unnoticed for a long time.
Carl's incident was the tipping point.
Fiona couldn't hold it back anymore.
Lip felt like he'd been struck by lightning. He froze on the spot. "What happened to Carl? I'm coming back right now!"
"Go to XXX Hospital!" Fiona shouted one last thing and hung up.
Lip had no mind for anything else. He immediately started sprinting toward the hospital, even though it wasn't close.
But with no money and no car, what else could he do but run on his own two legs?
In the police car.
Hearing clearly what Fiona said, Debbie hesitated again and again, but finally spoke up weakly. "Fiona, it's not Lip's fault. If you have to blame someone, blame Frank..."
Hearing the name "Frank."
Fiona gritted her teeth in hatred. "That piece of trash Frank is never allowed to step foot in the Gallagher house again!"
There is always something detestable about pitiful people.
Even after things had reached this point, deep down, Fiona still held a tiny bit of hope for Frank, still considered him her father.
How tragic.
Of course, Fiona wasn't the only tragic one.
Debbie bit her lip, unable to stop the sadness welling up. It was tragic for her too.
