Chapter 170 - Chapter 171: FXXK, Damn You Frank!

Better Call Saul? Breaking Bad?

Two worlds fused together?

Good god, this business trip was going to take a while.

But...

It was pretty exciting.

To be honest, those two worlds were a lot like the Shameless world... almost none of the recurring characters were good people. It was just different shades of bad.

Interesting. If handled right, it could be a lot of fun.

At the very least, heads rolling wouldn't be a problem.

Dexter thought about it silently, an excited smile gradually appearing on his face.

Of course, for the time being, he didn't plan to leave.

He still had plenty to do here.

After a little thought.

He'd leave after Veronica and Kevin's wedding.

Perfect timing. When Veronica and Kevin went on their honeymoon, he'd go on his "business trip." No problem.

With a rough plan in place, Dexter didn't dally and continued opening chests.

[You opened a Silver Chest. Congratulations, you won a bottle of Corpse Dissolving Fluid. (This fluid can completely dissolve an adult into a puddle of blood and flesh within one minute. Extremely potent, please use with caution.)]

Badass!

Dexter was amused.

The problem was, there were two Colombians to deal with, but only one bottle of fluid...

Use half a bottle on each? Dissolve half of each Colombian?

[You opened a Silver Chest. Congratulations, you won a Concealed Carry Permit. (Valid in all cities across the United States. Allows concealed carry and purchase of all firearms available in gun stores.)]

Oh ho.

Now this was good stuff!

Dexter beamed instantly. He had thought about getting a carry permit earlier, but after looking into it, he found the process incredibly complicated. You couldn't just walk in and get one; it required multiple trips and came with all sorts of annoying requirements...

Basically, it was a pain in the ass, so he had kept putting it off.

Now, problem solved.

Saved a ton of trouble. This thousand Merit Points was well spent.

[You opened a Silver Chest. Congratulations, you won a Barrett Sniper Rifle. (Equipped with a suppressor and 100 untraceable rounds.)]

Hehe.

Excellent!

With this, taking out those two Colombians—and killing or torturing anyone else—would be much simpler.

Open another.

[You opened a Silver Chest. Congratulations, you won $110,000.]

Useless. Keep going.

[You opened a Silver Chest. Congratulations, you won Sniper Skill (Professional Level.)]

Done. Spent five thousand Merit Points, got everything he wanted. Dexter swiftly put away the System and happily continued carving fruit.

After carving for a while.

He thought about the money.

At this point, he had a bit too much cash.

Just holding onto it was pointless; he had to spend it.

But on what?

Nice clothes, shoes, designer brands? He really had no interest in that stuff.

Buy a house, commercial real estate?

That could work. Actually... there was something he had thought about before.

The storefront where the restaurant was located, the storefront where Dex Fruit Stand was located, and the house Vivian was renting... he should buy them all.

Putting aside future appreciation, buying them meant no more rent and no worrying about landlords pulling bullshit.

After considering it, Dexter decided to go for it. He did some serious calculations.

Unclaimed cash from chests: $230,000.

Account balance: Over $60,000.

Restaurant safe: Over $50,000.

Total: Over $340,000.

First, buy the house Vivian lived in, so Comrade Vivian could have a stable nest.

Decision made, Dexter pulled out his phone and called the real estate agent he dealt with last time. "Hello. Help me buy another house. Address is 2088 North Wallace. My employee is currently renting it, and I want to buy it."

Hearing this.

The agent laughed with joy, agreeing readily. "Of course, Mr. Ding! I'll get on it right away!"

"Also, talk to the owners of the storefronts for my restaurant and Dex Fruit Stand. If the price is right, I plan to buy them too. Full payment in cash."

The agent was ecstatic. How much commission was this going to be? "Yes, yes, yes! I'll go negotiate immediately. I'll let you know the moment I have news."

"Good."

Call ended.

Vivian blinked next to him. "Boss, you're buying the house I live in?"

Dexter smiled at Vivian. "Yeah. Once I buy it, you can live there more securely. But let me be clear: I don't care about renovations. If you want to make the house prettier, you handle it yourself."

Vivian knew Dexter was teasing and didn't mind a bit. She nodded happily. "Okay!"

"Alright, stop grinning like an idiot. Get me a watermelon. Watch me carve a person to broaden your horizons."

"Hehe, Dr. Bianca?" Vivian asked mischievously.

Dexter laughed. "Otherwise, should I carve you?"

"Sure! Carve me, and then I'll eat it in one bite!" Vivian said.

Dexter: "..."

Almost forgot, this girl isn't quite normal either.

And so.

That afternoon, Dex Restaurant was very peaceful.

XXX Hospital.

After the ER doctor saw Carl, since there were no obvious signs of severe injury and the main purpose was a checkup, he handed Carl over to a resident after a brief examination.

Before long.

Bianca arrived at Carl's bedside, gave him a faint smile, and began a detailed examination.

After the checkup.

"There shouldn't be any major problems," Bianca said to Fiona and Tony. "I'll arrange for a CT scan, MRI, and EKG."

Fiona was very worried. "He was unconscious for several minutes earlier. Was that caused by the punch?"

Bianca nodded. "Very likely. Carl is young and relatively thin. His body couldn't handle a punch from an adult, so fainting isn't surprising."

Just as she finished speaking.

Lip, face flushed and gasping for air after sprinting all the way there, rushed to the bedside. As soon as he stopped, he anxiously looked at Carl lying in the bed, then immediately asked Bianca, "Doctor, is Carl in danger?"

When it came to family, Lip was actually pretty decent.

Bianca shook her head. "Shouldn't be in danger. We'll know more after the test results. Please wait patiently. A nurse will come soon to take Carl to the testing room."

With that, Bianca turned and left.

Lip didn't stay idle. He immediately asked Fiona, "What exactly happened? I was only gone for a little while, how could Carl almost die?"

By this time, having vented her rage earlier and hearing the doctor say Carl was basically fine, Fiona had calmed down significantly. Seeing Lip's flushed face and realizing he had run all the way here, she felt a pang of sympathy. She didn't yell anymore and calmly explained the situation.

Hearing it, the veins on Lip's forehead bulged. His instinct was to rush out, find Frank, and beat him to death.

But Lip held back. He didn't move.

"FXXK!!! Damn you, Frank!!!"
