Chapter 3
"Sir, I'm here," Hazel said as she entered the manager's office.
"You are fired," the manager said as soon as she finished her statement.
"What, really?" Hazel asked, not with an unreadable expression on her face.
"Yes, really," the manager said in a serious tone.
"Are you sure you don't want to think about it?" Hazel added.
"Yeah, I am very sure," the manager replied.
"Okay, then I will make sure that you also get fired after I leave this place right now," Hazel said, heading towards the door with an unreadable expression on her face.
"Hey, wait! What do you mean by that?" the manager said.
"I fired you because you beat up one of our customers, and this isn't the first nor the second time you'll be beating a customer to a pulp. And now that you've lost your job, you're telling me you'll make sure I lose mine also?" the manager said in a pissed tone.
"Hey, wait, buddy, don't get mad yet. Let me show you something," Hazel said as she brought her phone out. "See a little gift I prepared for you in advance," she added, showing him a video of him harassing one of the female waiters on her phone. "And see this ugly picture of you. Once I show this video to the boss and I post this photo of you online, you're surely gonna be dead meat. You'll be fired, and all those old acts falling for you would surely hate you. Boss, you're surely gonna get fired from this job, and once I post this picture of you without your wig... Oh my, all the old women who have a crush on you will totally hate you because of the fake life you've been living," Hazel threatened, heading towards the door.
"Eh, wait! Wait! Where did you get those?" the manager said, tortured.
"There's no need for you to know where I got the videos from. Just know that after I walk out of this office of yours, you're also gonna follow. Five minutes, okay. You are no longer fired. You can stay, but don't show anybody those videos, okay, and those pictures. Don't post anything," the manager replied.
"Wow, very good. Well, you see tomorrow. You'll see. See you by weekend. And also, add to my salary. Then I'm heading off. See here," Hazel said, exiting his office.
By the time Hazel got home, she climbed into bed and slept off because of how tired she was. When Ailey (or was it Emly?) came back from work, she peeked into Hazel's room and saw that she was asleep. She looked at her daughter with a pity in her eyes and left for her own room to prepare for the next day.
