Chapter 1 - A Note From the Dead

A half-burnt boy was crossing the road carrying a dead body. His face was completely burned, and the corpse he was carrying had blisters all over it. Carrying that body, the boy was going somewhere.

Three years later…

Six friends, who would do anything for each other, were gathered together. All of them were very successful in their professions and had earned great respect in society.

For the past three years, they had been planning to meet, but every time something or the other stopped them. But today, after many efforts, they finally gathered at Ajay's farmhouse.

"Hey Ravi, what happened to the bodies of those two friends who died in that fire three years ago? Did anyone find out anything?"

"No, nothing at all. Nobody knows where those two bodies went."

"Vishal, you're a police officer. Didn't you find anything either?"

"Guys, we are meeting after three whole years, and all you want to talk about is that horrible incident from the past."

"Then you tell us, Vijay. What should we talk about?"

"We should talk about the best people in our lives, our good friends, and moments we never want to forget."

"Vijay, none of us have anyone like that in our lives. And as for friends, we are each other's best friends, right?"

"Yes, but in these three years there must be someone you met… someone you felt should have the first right over your time."

"The first right… she?"

All the friends looked shocked.

"A girl?!"

"Hey idiot! Don't tell me you've fallen in love with some girl. Say that it's a lie. If it's true, we'll beat you up ourselves!"

Vijay stuttered shyly,

"Y-yes… what you guys are thinking is actually true."

For a moment, all the friends just stared at Vijay.

Back in college, Vikas had loved a girl very deeply. He was always too scared to confess his feelings to her. One day he finally gathered the courage to tell her everything.

But when Vijay found out about it, he gave Vikas so many reasons to stay away from girls that Vikas himself started believing that staying away from girls was better for everyone.

Because of that, Vikas never confessed his feelings to that girl. Now she is married and has two children—one four years old and the other three.

Vijay hadn't done this only to Vikas but to all his friends. They had even made a promise to each other that they would never befriend any girl and never get married.

And now suddenly Vijay was talking about his love!

That's why the angry eyes of all his friends were fixed on him.

"Why are you all staring at me like that?" Vijay said.

"Whatever happened in college was childish. We made so many promises back then. Do we still follow all of them? You guys took that promise too seriously. You should also find a nice girl and make your lives happy, otherwise you'll keep annoying each other forever."

"Oh! I didn't even tell you her name. Her name is Alka. She's so wonderful. I met her only two months ago. Every moment I just want to see her. She's so beautiful."

All the friends kept staring silently at Vijay. But Vijay didn't care. He just kept talking nonstop about Alka.

After listening to him for some time, all the friends got angry and left. Vijay fell asleep on the terrace.

The next morning, when Vijay woke up, he tried calling all of them, but none of them answered his calls.

When he went to their houses to meet them, no one talked to him. They behaved as if they didn't even know him.

This hurt Vijay deeply, and he returned home sadly.

In the evening, while sitting on his balcony checking some medicines to improve his mood, the watchman of his house brought him a small note.

Something was written on it.

The moment Vijay read it, he was shocked. His hands started trembling. Sweat appeared on his face.

After thinking for a moment, he grabbed the watchman by the collar and asked,

"Who gave you this note? Tell me!"

"Sorry sir, but one of your patients gave it to me."

"My patient?"

"Yes, sir."

"Have you ever seen him before?"

"No sir… and half of his face was burned."

Hearing this, Vijay was stunned. He held his head and sat down on the sofa, muttering to himself,

"No… how is this possible?

He… he was already dead.

Then… was that really him?"
