Perhaps there were days this scenery could be considered as nice. But right now it definitely wasn't. The emission of energy which makes the metal structure blow also induces many different things.
Right now Rea's nostrils were filled with smoke. The fire spread at a dizzying pace, burning the trees. Her face crinkled as she saw that this calamity also took the life of some living beings. Mainly killed by the explosion, but she can also imagine that the molten metal also contributed to that.
Seeing the scenery makes her confused. Should she be proud that she was able to outsmart her owners and escape or rather regret that she killed people so easily? That she didn't hesitate when it came to her own safety?
"Perhaps death is just another consequence of our choices." Rea mutters to herself.
But this consequence seems way too harsh. Team Rocket weren't good people. It was difficult to call them humane, yet this was… too much.
She let out a deep breath. Her eyes looked over the countless corpses laying over the ground. The red and blue glowing light was casting a glow on what remained from both people and Pokemon...
Wait.
Fire usually doesn't glow blue. Unless there's a process called the clean burning which doesn't happen frequently. Especially not during explosions.
At this moment noises of sirens reaches her and Rea finally realizes what's going on. Police. Her breath immediately fastened and she finally started to move, no wanting to be spotted by anyone.
Yet at the moment she did, Rea immediately fell down, hitting the ground miserably. Supporting herself on elbows, she looked back. And at the exact moment she saw the wound on her leg, Rea felt the pain.
With a groan she stood up and limped to reach the nearest tree or rather what remains from it. Perhaps before it was the adrenaline which let her move.
"Pity it goes away when I need it the most." She mutters, gritting her teeth.
Yet the buzzers were already heard, pointing that all the emergency services are already on site. And perhaps not only emergencies. Most likely police too, and who knows if not some specials…
"Damn it." She swears.
It was clear that the explosion, especially an explosion on a large scale, would bring attention to itself. Surely some public services had already arrived, but it was only a matter of time when the events started to be of interest to some bystanders. Pokémon trainers, journalists, and TV reporters.
Rea's breath quickened. No. Hell no. There's a possibility Giovanni already saw her. Truly at the time the Team Rocket hideout was a pure disaster, and also the man might presume the blow was done by one of the Pokémon. Any Pokémon. Not necessarily Mewtwo. Yet it doesn't mean she needs some random gawkers to see her right now.
Panting heavily she tries to move but again stumbles and almost falls down, yet this time supports herself on the tree trunk. It actually made her understand that every effort was pointless. With a wound that might have appeared during the incident or before as she was trampled and pushed by the wild crowd. Everything made Rea exhausted.
"Damn!" She swore again as her fist angrily hit the trunk.
Nothing happened. No leaves falling down (mostly because this exact tree have little of those after explosion), no cracks. Humans were weak.
She was weak.
With a groan and gritted teeth Rea tries to make a step. It hurts like hell and she lets out a yelp out of her mouth. Yet she quickly restrains herself. No. She was too close. She can't just give up.
Another step was a little better. Although she was pretty sure the wound was already open by that (if it managed to close up at all). But it doesn't matter. She just has to ensure infection will not set in. Anything else doesn't matter.
After a few similar steps, which took more time than Rea would like, she was finally hidden well by the surrounding trees. The noises behind her become louder and louder. Most likely it was proportionally growing to the number of people gathering in the place. And it was quieting down when they saw that there's no one that could have been saved.
But her own eyes were focused on the view in front of her. Actually it was the most beautiful sight Rea have seen for a long time.
Right in the clearing stands an ambulance. No one guards it, and no one seems to be around as well. But what's important is that such vehicles for sure have… contents. Nothing advanced, some basic medical help. Like oxygen masks. And painkillers.
"And antiseptics." Rea mutteres.
Most likely it was another reckless decision. But this reckless decision was necessary to get out of this situation alive. So again step by step Rea reached the ambulance. It hurts, yet the knowledge that it soon would stop makes her proceed.
The most challenging obstacle was the fact that the entrance to the back part was too high. At first a soft purple aura surrounds Rea's hand but she immediately stops it.
No. If someone saw it, it wouldn't be easy to explain. If it would be possible to explain that at all. She has to do it without any psychic powers.
And so, Rea climbed up. With many groans and sobs she gets inside. Slowly she sits down on the stretcher. She takes a few breaths before making another attempt at standing up. Finally Rea manages to do it, and supports herself on the metallic first aid kit. It immediately falls down with a huge bang.
She has no time for fear. Just keep looking. Search through bandages, different types of chemicals…
"Holy Mew." She had heard.
And this makes her freeze. But Rea didn't even notice who it was. Some hands just guide her to lay down. At first she plans to fight, yet finds herself unable to. It took too much to just get here. Not to mention that right now fighting was reckless.
Her leg hurts even more. She wasn't sure what's going on, and just groaned.
"Sh, it's fine." The mysterious person said. "I'll just use an antiseptic."
Antiseptics..?
It took a while before Rea regained her view. She still lies down but beneath her there was a man. Dressed in white uniform…
Her eyes widened. No, he can't be a scientist! They all died!
"It's okay." The man calms her down again.
No, it wasn't. Some random human just approached her and without a reason did what she planned to do.
"Why...?" She finally asks.
Maybe this human saw her try to enter the ambulance? After all, Rea planned to levitate herself out of it. The purple aura could be seen for a moment, but most likely the human planned to threaten her with that…
Yet he just tilted his head. Almost as if Rea's question was a ridiculous one.
"Because you need help."
Rea blinked a few times. It's… just that? No threats? No tries to get something from her?
"I..."
It was stupid. Strange. Ridiculous.
It was… selflessness.
And this human's trait is something she doesn't understands.
