Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 : Secret and Lies

Love Behind the Kremlin Walls

Sasha's heart was still racing as she slipped back into her bed, the sheets cool against her skin. She couldn't believe she had agreed to help Jack, a CIA agent, on a mission to extract a valuable asset from East Berlin. The thought of it was both exhilarating and terrifying.

As she lay there, her mind began to whirl with questions. What was she getting herself into? What would happen if she got caught? But amidst the doubts, she couldn't shake off the feeling of excitement, of being part of something bigger than herself.

The next morning, Sasha woke up to the sound of her mother, Countess Petrova, calling her for breakfast. She quickly got dressed and joined her parents in the dining room, trying to act as normal as possible.

"Good morning, darling," her mother said, as Sasha took her seat. "You're looking a bit pale today. Everything alright?"

Sasha forced a smile. "Just a bit tired, Mother. I didn't sleep well last night."

Her father, General Petrov, looked up from his newspaper. "You should take care of yourself, Sasha. You know how important it is to maintain appearances."

Sasha nodded, feeling a twinge of guilt. She was lying to her parents, and she knew it.

As they finished breakfast, Sasha excused herself, saying she had to meet a friend. She made her way to a small café on the outskirts of Moscow, where she had agreed to meet Jack.

He was already there, sipping a cup of coffee, looking every bit the suave American businessman. Sasha's heart skipped a beat as he smiled at her, and she felt a flutter in her chest.

"Good morning, Princess," he said, as she sat down. "I hope you're ready for this."

Sasha took a deep breath. "I'm ready."

Jack handed her a small folder. "This is the plan. Study it carefully. We'll be leaving for East Berlin in two days."

Sasha took the folder, her fingers brushing against his. The touch sent shivers down her spine, and she knew she was in this now, for better or for worse.

As she left the café, Sasha felt a sense of purpose she hadn't felt in a long time. She was taking control of her life, and she was ready to see where it would lead.

But as she walked back to her car, she noticed a black Volga following her. Her heart sank, and she knew the KGB was watching her.

The game was on, and Sasha was ready to play.
