Chapter 3 - True Misfortune Begins

Ren looked at the points +3. Unlucky Roulette was spinning with the red spin button in front.

THUD THUD.

Suddenly there was a sound of footsteps from behind. Ren slowly turned back, like it would prevent the thing behind him from alarmed. He did a silent gasp.

Slowly getting up, Ren half creeped and half crawled out from behind the dumpster, keeping and eye on the Zombie with . Suddenly he felt himself bump into something, and it smelled like the thing that jumped at him from the building.

Turning slowly towards the midsection of the Zombie which was also LV1, Ren screamed and with the adrenaline pumping ran without looking back towards the 2 Zombies.

Ren opened the Roulette and spun the wheel while it also appeared he had gained another +5 points, which further solidified some things he thought about how he gained points, which he did not like.

The Roulette spun and while it was still spinning, Ren looked behind, and he saw 2 more Zombies along with the 2 he saw. Cursing his bad luck, Ren looked towards the half where Ophelia would be buried and silently apologized and turned the corner and went into the first door without looking what the place was.

Hiding behind the door, he looked at the stopped Roulette.

Congratulations! You have Won "Pickaxe"!

Item Description: Can dig up anything. Breaks after 10 uses.

Note: Pick the brain of your followers!

"Shit! I am not going back." Ren looked at the pickaxe.

Unlucky Roulette

Roulette points: 6 points.

Next spin: 3points.

Ren weighed the choices of spinning again or saving it for the revival potion he had found in "Destiny Store". Finally feeling like having made a tough choice, he picked up the pickaxe and went back out towards the 4 followers he had gained in his apocalyptic life, unaware his self rant had been heard by the only surviving entity in the building, The Veterinarian.

Ren turned the corner and ran without shouting to avoid any further mistakes or attracting any further attention to this place.

Ren believed himself to be okay, not too fat, too slim, short or long, which further fueled his belief that he could take them on easily. Swinging the blade horizontally to slice of the head, Ren sliced off the first head. The Unlucky Roulette pinged and he had gained another point.

Feeling good about the point gained, and getting closer toward buying the revival potion, Ren swung the Pickaxe again, making a clean cut of the second head of the Second Zombie getting another point.

Feeling more in tune with his body, without seeing the level of the 3rd Zombie, Ren swung again. Suddenly there was a crack on the Pickaxe. The zombie head was sliced off however the point gained was +2.

Ren looking towards the last Zombie realized the level on top of the head was LV2. Ren put in full effort and swung again. The Pickaxe sliced the head off but there was another +2 and crack sound.

Ren looked at the remaining use which now showed 4 remaining uses. The level 2 Zombies shaving off 2 uses each. However, he was finally closer to 15 points. He had 6 now he had gained 6. He needed 3 more to finally be able to get the revival potion and....huh, Ren thought, how was he supposed to get Ophelia with only 4 uses of Pickaxe, which might be spent defending.

Ren looked towards the spinning wheel of Unlucky Roulette, gritted his teeth and hoped the wheel could help him out on this.

However, planning to get cover from rain, which was finally showing signs of stopping, Ren sprinted back to the place he took cover at when running from the Zombies.

Suddenly, what came in view shocked Ren again. It looked like Ren would keep on getting surprised and shocked through out the beginning of apocalypse.

The door was completely filled by what looked like a large White poodle, however the size itself was not the thing that left our hero Ren wide-eyed. It was the blood around the paws, or more appropriate to say sickle like claws, and the grinder like jaws.

Ren heard the ping of the points again. +5 bringing the points. covering the points needed for the revival potions and +3 extra. However this sound also sounded alarms, because it meant he was about have bad luck.

Right, Ren finally figured out something about the points. While killing the Zombies got him points, the points gained randomly meant something like "misfortune strikes again". Suddenly there was silence, as if there was supposed to be silence so the poodle could get attracted to the sound of the footsteps of Ren.

The poodle, which had the locket with the name: Petite in heart, which was now bloody due to the saliva mixed with blood dripping down from Petite's mouth, turned it's head and made a deep guttural bark.

The sound was like a pistol sound beginning a race between the canine and the human, like the human was taking the canine on a walk, and the canine just wanted to run over the human.

Ren cursed his luck for the umpteenth time and selected the spin again. Points reduced to 15 points. Keeping the Pickaxe in the Roulette's storage, Ren hoped the wheel would stop spinning and like magic, the wheel stopped.

Congratulations! You have won-
