Chapter 1 - PART 1. Still Here

Between Waking Up and Holding On

Morning arrives without permission.

The alarm rings, and before their eyes fully open, their chest already feels heavy. Not because of a nightmare—but because of a reality that hasn't changed.

Another day.The same weight. The same question:

"What's the point of getting up today?"

They sit on the edge of the bed, staring at the floor, letting a few seconds pass. The world thinks this is trivial. But only they know how much courage it takes just to stand when life feels unbearably exhausting.

On their phone screen, other people's lives seem to move so smoothly.Achievement after achievement.Carefully curated smiles.Good news that feels impossibly far away.

They scroll slowly, then stop.

There is a feeling of being left behind—not envy, just exhaustion.Exhaustion from feeling like the only one who hasn't arrived anywhere yet.

They often wonder where they went wrong. Were they not brave enough? Not fast enough? Not worthy enough?

No one hears these questions, because they always answer the same way:

"I'm fine."

Not because it's true—but because explaining feels too tiring.

Survival is never beautiful.

There are no cheers.No applause.

Survival is simply showing up while exhausted, eating without appetite, and going to sleep hoping tomorrow won't be heavier than today.

It's about taking a deep breath and telling yourself,

"Just one more day."

There are nights when tears fall silently. When the mind is loud, but the world is too quiet to share anything with.

In those moments, they become the only witness to their own struggle.

No one holds them—yet they choose to stay.

No one reassures them—yet they do not leave.

And without realizing it, in the middle of all that exhaustion, something begins to grow.

Not success.Not victory.

But resilience.

The ability to carry wounds without letting them completely destroy who they are.

They don't know when life will feel lighter. They don't know when mornings will feel hopeful again.

But they keep moving forward—not because they are certain of the ending, but because stopping feels more frightening than continuing.

Maybe one day—not today, maybe not anytime soon—they will look back and realize something simple yet important:

They were not saved by a great achievement, but by the courage to wake up on the days they wanted to disappear.

And when that day comes, they will understand—

They were not weak for being tired. They did not fail for moving slowly.

They were only human—choosing to remain.

They are still here.

And for now,that is enough.
