Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 - The Fighting Style Suited for Psychic Power

Due to the frequent and rapid switching between "Bullet Time" and normal time, Lin Wuming experienced strong physiological discomfort.

Fortunately, the enemy in front of him couldn't match the reaction speed of "Bullet Time."

So, even though Lin Wuming felt he had wasted some time, the guy in front of him was still standing there dazed, waiting for his continued attack.

However, this man seemed to be wearing body armor or similar protection. He must be the heavy weapons specialist in the enemy team, and he was quite resilient to hit.

Lin Wuming's psychic blocks slammed into him but didn't achieve the expected effect. Instead, it was the reflected launcher that made him fumble for a while.

—The same output, with a physical "projectile," is more powerful than a pure psychic block.

Lin Wuming filed this observation away.

He stole a glance at the reflected bullet, which shattered the window of another building a hundred meters away. Whether it hit the sniper was unclear.

Lin Wuming quickly calculated in his mind and found that the destructive power of the reflected bullet was no weaker than when it was originally shot.

This further confirmed Lin Wuming's judgment.

—I cannot rely solely on psychic blocks for attack!

What nearby objects could serve as "projectiles"? Lin Wuming searched his surroundings.

But just then, the enemy in front of him had regrouped, pulling a short-barreled submachine gun from the bag on his back.

Seeing this, Lin Wuming immediately raised his hand and swung.

This was an instinctive reaction in a moment of urgency, but it was also the best auxiliary motion for activating his superpower.

A horizontal burst of psychic power struck the enemy's muzzle, and a stream of bullets all went astray, hitting the flowerbed.

Firearms were always a lethal threat, and Lin Wuming decided to use his psychic ability to disarm him.

However, at the moment of action, he suddenly changed his mind.

The submachine gun did not fly out of the man's hands. Instead, the big man, along with the gun in his hand, flew up.

—Lin Wuming suddenly remembered that his psychic ability could lift a mass of at least half a ton.

If that was the case, why bother looking for other "projectiles"? He could simply use the ground and walls as weapons.

Having neutralized another enemy this way, Lin Wuming didn't bother interrogating him further and simply knocked him unconscious.

Because new enemies were continuously pouring in.

The arrival of that recent sniper round seemed to have signaled the enemy's general attack.

More enemies leaped out from concealed positions in all directions.

They also knew of Lin Wuming's prowess. As they appeared, a barrage of bullets from submachine guns arrived before them, reaching Lin Wuming first.

Using "Bullet Time" and his psychic propulsion, Lin Wuming slid across the ground in a skating posture, narrowly evading all the bullets while launching a counterattack.

One enemy after another inexplicably stumbled where they stood, hitting the ground headfirst and bleeding.

An enemy was taken down nearly every second. After just over ten seconds, the area around him had quieted down, with no one left standing.

It wasn't that the Anbu organization "Hunter" was weak; it was that Lin Wuming's movements were too fast.

Lin Wuming, who frequently entered "Bullet Time," might not have consciously realized it, but to the enemies, his movements were clean, simple, highly efficient, and terrifyingly fast.

He moved like a battle-hardened warrior, or rather... a combat machine!

"Hunters" ultimately couldn't compare to a "warrior," and the fact that Lin Wuming used an invisible psychic ability made him impossible to defend against.

Lin Wuming himself didn't think much of it, but the sniper observing the entire battle from afar was shocked and furious.

"Hunter" wasn't a particularly large Anbu organization to begin with; counting himself, there were only about twenty formal members. Now, to take down this mission target, they had already lost most of their force.

"The intelligence is wrong. Based on his performance, this kid isn't some Level 3 who just awakened his superpower. He's a Level 4 Great-Level Esper who has been fully developed and trained!" The sniper was the "Hunter" leader and commander, but at this point, he had no mind to continue the mission, abandoning even the thought of rescuing his subordinates.

Although they were professional "Hunters," the upper limit of their targets was Level 3. Higher-level Level 4 Great-Level Espers were simply not the type of characters their level of Anbu could handle.

According to the contract, if the target was Level 4, they had the right to refuse the mission and even claim compensation from the employer for faulty intelligence.

"Retreat! Retreat immediately! The target is Level 4! Intelligence error, mission canceled!" The leader immediately gave the order, stopping the remaining subordinates from continuing to charge in.

As for those who had already been defeated and lay unconscious around the target... they could only blame their bad luck.

The Anbu organization "Hunter" was exactly this type of group; its members were not good people, so one shouldn't expect these "comrades" to risk their lives to rescue anyone.

The "Hunter" side had decided to cancel the mission and call it quits.

But Lin Wuming was unaware of this. In his view, today's battle was far from over; it might have just begun.

After all, he didn't know the enemy's exact scale, only that they were a "large-scale" Anbu organization.

Based on Lin Wuming's understanding of Anbu organizations, they generally fell into two categories: one was the "small and elite" type, such as "School," "Item," "Member," "Group," and "Corps of the Living Dead." Their core official members usually numbered only four or five, mostly high-level Espers or other experts with unique skills. The rest were subordinates recruited from Armed Powerless Groups, essentially negligible in actual combat.

The other type were large-scale units like "Hound Dog Unit," "Spark Catchers," and "Punishment Unit." These rarely had Espers among their ranks, consisting primarily of adults. Their organizational structure was similar to the Judgment force, and they could be seen as a gray or dark version of security forces.

Since they were called a "Unit", the second type of Anbu organization, as the name implied, was naturally "unit-sized," numbering at least in the triple digits.

In Lin Wuming's eyes, the "Hunter" organization attacking him belonged to the second type of Anbu organization—no Espers, but a group of adult soldiers equipped with various firearms.

Given this, Lin Wuming naturally didn't think they only had a mere dozen or so people.

The enemy's main force might be right behind them—the enemy is hidden, I am exposed; Lin Wuming had to consider the situation this way...

"No, I still lack necessary information." Lin Wuming pressed his forehead, distressed. "Why hasn't the Judgment force arrived yet?"

His phone still had no signal, and Lin Wuming began to feel anxious.

Looking at the enemies lying on the ground, Lin Wuming suddenly had a thought—did their phones or other communicators have a signal?

So, he immediately began to search their bodies.
