Chapter 5: Extermination
Boom!!
A terrifying force surged through the twin axes, almost wrenching them from his grip.
"What incredible strength!"
The man called Evil Wolf was taken aback, staring in shock at the dinosaur before him.
"Roar—!" The Raptorex didn't let up, roaring as it lunged, its massive jaws snapping at him with a foul, bloody stench.
A bloodthirsty gleam flashed in Evil Wolf's eyes. He charged forward to meet it head-on.
Meanwhile, Stanley, who had retreated to the side, watched the battle in stunned disbelief. That young man's 'pet' is that strong?
For the first time, a flicker of hope rose in his heart.
"I should probably warm up a bit myself," murmured Jiang Qize as he stood on the wrecked ship, his eyes glinting as he watched the Raptorex and the wolf clash.
Only those who had faced blood and death could be called true warriors.
Buzz!
He squatted low, then suddenly sprang into the air.
Boom!!
He landed right in the middle of the pirates.
All of them exchanged glances, their faces twisting into vicious grins. "Kill him!"
"Die—!"
They raised their blades and swung at Jiang Qize.
But in his eyes, their movements were painfully slow.
He moved—one step, one punch.
"Pfft!"
The pirate he hit almost had his eyeballs pop out as blood sprayed from his mouth before collapsing to the ground.
Dodging the others' blades, Jiang Qize spun, his leg snapping out like a cannon.
Buzz!
"Argh—!"
Boom! Crash!
Two pirates were sent flying, their bodies twisting grotesquely as their eyes rolled back.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
His figure darted among them, a blur of motion. One after another, the pirates were smashed aside, their screams echoing across the deck.
Two minutes later, every pirate except Evil Wolf lay dead.
"The feeling of power… it's amazing. Though, it does ruin my clothes."
Jiang Qize's eyes gleamed like starlight as a faint smile curved his lips.
His hands were stained red, blood dripping from his fingers. His clothes were splattered with crimson.
By now, Evil Wolf was barely hanging on. His left arm had been bitten off, and deep gashes crisscrossed his body, flesh torn and bloody.
The Raptorex, on the other hand, only looked fiercer—its own wounds minor, barely affecting its movements.
"Roar—!"
The Raptorex opened its bloodstained jaws and lunged at Evil Wolf's head.
Evil Wolf tried to dodge, but a thick tail suddenly swept toward him.
Wham!
"Ah—!"
The tail struck him full-on. Agony exploded through his body, wrenching a scream from his throat.
"Pfft…"
A fountain of blood burst out. The sounds of battle fell silent.
The Raptorex loosened its jaws, dropping half a corpse onto the deck. Blood trickled down between its teeth as it let out a low growl, turning its gaze toward Stanley.
Stanley swallowed hard and took two steps back.
His stomach churned.
He'd seen death before—but never anything this brutal.
The ship's deck was soaked in blood.
"That's enough, Raptorex," Jiang Qize said softly.
"Roar…"
The creature gave a low cry, then padded obediently back to his side.
"Uncle, got anything to eat?" Jiang Qize asked with a friendly smile as he walked up to Stanley.
"Y-Yes, yes!"
Stanley quickly turned to the crew. "Hurry, bring some food!"
The sailors snapped out of their daze, shouting assent as they ran toward the galley.
…
A few minutes later.
"Young man, where are you headed?" Stanley asked, watching as Jiang Qize devoured his meal.
Beside him, his daughter Sarah stared at Jiang Qize with wide, curious eyes.
Jiang Qize paused briefly, then said, "To a town with a Marine base. I'm turning in some pirates for their bounties."
He needed money to strengthen his summoned dinosaurs—and since both pirate crews he'd just wiped out had bounties, he wasn't about to waste the chance.
"Oh, right, Uncle—what year is it now? And which sea are we in?" he asked.
"It's the Sea Circle Calendar, Year 1500," Stanley replied softly. "You're in the East Blue, the Slaia Sea. If you want to claim those bounties, sail another two hundred nautical miles. There's a place called Tama Town—it's got a Marine branch."
"Oh, got it. Thanks," Jiang Qize said with a grin.
"No need to thank me—if anything, I should thank you. If not for you…"
"Are you a bounty hunter?" Sarah suddenly asked.
