Chapter 25 - Chapter 25 Vengeful Ghosts Snatch Souls, Unpredictable Deaths

Led by the woman in black veils, Qian Xunji finally stopped in front of a peculiar building.

The entire building was circular, or more accurately, an asymmetrical cone. It was largest at the bottom, narrowing towards the top.

It maintained the same diameter upwards for about thirty meters, extending to fifty meters.

All the buildings in the Killing Arena were black, creating an oppressive atmosphere.

"Let me tell you something else,"

the woman in black veils said calmly, her voice slightly angry, leaving Qian Xunji bewildered, wondering what he had done to offend her.

The woman then led Qian Xunji into the Killing Arena, which appeared much simpler inside; however, a killing ground didn't need to be extravagant.

After registering using his identity token, he began to meditate in the waiting room.

He had originally planned to watch the battle in the killing arena, but he gave up when he heard the woman in black say that watching required a Bloody Mary.

An hour later, waiting room number thirteen in the regional killing arena finally had ten people, and the battle was about to begin.

Soon, Qian Xunji and his group of ten left the waiting room and

arrived at the killing arena outside.

It was a huge, open arena with a diameter of over a hundred meters, enough for ten people to fight to their hearts' content.

This arena did not have the isolation fences of the Great Soul Arena; instead, there were concentric viewing platforms extending upwards from the outer edge. There weren't many people watching at the moment. In one spot at the front, the woman in black was sitting quietly with a Bloody Mary in her hand. Although she had seen Qian Xunji fight once, she still didn't know the extent of his strength, since the battle had ended too quickly.

The battle on the field was about to erupt, and Qian Xunji immediately flashed away into the distance.

Qian Xunji sealed his soul power; after all, his soul power was very high, and playing around like this wouldn't be fun. He came here to experience the struggle between life and death, to hone his agility, combat skills, and reflexes.

And so, the melee quickly began, with Qian Xunji constantly roaming the arena.

Because of his youth, at least four people initially attacked him simultaneously. However, Qian Xunji's senses were incredibly sharp, causing these four to miss their attacks. After chasing him for a while without being able to kill him, they sought other targets.

The woman in black veils watched Qian Xunji narrowly evade wave after wave of attacks and couldn't help but sneer.

"I thought he was so strong, but he's nothing special."

At this moment, after a fierce battle, only three people remained.

A one-eyed old man wielding two daggers, and a scarred middle-aged man wielding a large golden-ringed broadsword. These two were also the strongest among the ten, both possessing soul power exceeding level eighty, making them two Soul Douluos.

They exchanged a glance, instantly understanding each other, and immediately surrounded Qian Xunji. If they wanted to fight in peace, they had to clear the battlefield first.

Qian Xunji sighed softly as he watched this scene. It seemed he had to intervene.

The scarred middle-aged man chuckled cruelly, "You brat, come and die! Take this!"

Qian Xunji's eyes turned cold, then a sneer appeared on his lips. "If you've got the guts, come and kill me. If not, just wait for me to slaughter you." With that, Qian Xunji raised his hand, revealing a large middle finger.

Although the scarred middle-aged man didn't understand what that meant, his anger surged to his head, his eyes bloodshot, and he directly swung his sword.

The one-eyed old man behind him, however, retreated instead of advancing. He wasn't so impulsive; this was a good opportunity to let Qian Xunji weaken the scarred middle-aged man's strength, allowing him to watch the two tigers fight from the sidelines. Why not?

Qian Xunji hadn't expected the scarred middle-aged man to charge directly, but it was good to eliminate one first to avoid revealing more of his strength.

The scarred middle-aged man gripped his sword with both hands and slashed diagonally, seemingly intending to cleave Tang Bufan in two. Originally, Qian Xunji planned to use a flanking maneuver, but seeing the one-eyed old man retreating, he raised his sword and clashed directly with the scarred middle-aged man's broadsword. The terrifying force directly knocked the scarred middle-aged man's hand away from the sword, and the next moment he was cleaved in two by a golden sword light, blood splattering everywhere.

Even in death, his eyes remained wide open, unable to comprehend how this seemingly immature young man could far surpass him in strength.

A gasp of astonishment erupted from the viewing platform, and the girl in black covered her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief.

In the distance, the one-eyed old man's expression changed drastically; he had misjudged the young man—a true master.

However, he remained confident in himself. The young man had only relied on his superior strength to unexpectedly kill Scarface.

Now that he knew, he would be prepared and wouldn't give him the chance.

A minute later, the one-eyed old man also fell into a pool of blood, his eyes wide open in death.

From that day forward, Qian Xunji's killing spree officially began.

A week later, the number of fallen warriors killed by Qian Xunji's sword reached three digits, while he achieved a five-game winning streak—a result he had deliberately orchestrated.

At the same time, he truly understood the terror of the regional killing arena, especially the constant ambushes after the competition ended. Only now did he understand why the girl in black had only managed a dozen wins in over six months.

Even so, he always managed to escape unscathed. To conceal his strength, he would deliberately endure a few light but not heavy attacks before fleeing when attacked.

Three months passed in the blink of an eye, and Qian Xunji's winning streak reached an astonishing thirty-seven matches, placing him among the top twenty in the City of Slaughter.

This speed had already broken the city's record.

As for his strength, opinions varied.

Some said he was incredibly powerful, otherwise how could he have achieved thirty-seven consecutive wins in just three months?

Others said he was incredibly lucky, always managing to narrowly escape defeat.

In a training room in the inner city of the City of Slaughter, Qian Xunji exhaled a breath of candlelight, ending his training, and headed back to the Regional Slaughter Arena.

A year later, a chilling aura filled the entire Regional Slaughter Arena. Qian Xunji walked at the back, yet the eyes of the other nine were all fixed on him.

Ninety matches, ninety consecutive wins—this was Qian Xunji's current achievement. He was also the top performer in the regional killing arena. Surprisingly, right behind him was the black-clad girl named Manyao, with an eighty-game winning streak.

After a year, Qian Xunji and Manyao had become the two most famous figures in the regional killing arena—no, it should be said that they were the most famous figures in the entire Killing City. The people of Killing City collectively called them 'The Vengeful Ghosts, the Unpredictable Reapers.'    This

was because the two were ruthless, decisive, and merciless, killing as easily as slicing vegetables, and their faces were expressionless.   (End of Chapter)
